On our journey, we had previously explored the Rio Tinto mines in Huelva, Spain. We discovered that Minas de São Domingos was exactly located at the other end of the 300 kilometer long mineral deposit belt! It was intriguing to explore the rows of mining houses that lined the quiet lanes of the small town. there was also a poignant mural putting a compassionate face on the difficult life of the miner. For anyone interested in mining history, staying in this village was a great pause. continue on to Rio Tinto to see the large and informative mining museum.Guest review bymuhammadUnited States - 6.0

I was previously staying in this hotel unit and the conditions were excellent and a pleasant stay, so this time i was a little disappointed, because in two nights, the dinner meal offered could be better quality if it did not repeat itself, there should be a code of conduct for the use of the pool (like playing the ball inside the swimming pool...) and despite the fact of positive worker effort, the service could be a little more attentive and helpful. We liked the place so much, quiet and gorgeous hotel. A building with a story, a surrounding with a story and the best staff with a story to tell. You feel in a different time, sitting on the terrace and enjoying the view over the garden and the trees and the mountains. Silence - stars in the sky! And very unique is you can see the stars and the moon by visiting the telescope - Very Unique - beautiful explanation. A Must see!Guest review byAukeNetherlands - 8.0

Our family has been staying at this hotel for many years, it’s a beautiful property with a privileged location if you want to get away from it all and re charge batteries. The staff is outstanding always happy to help and will go out of their way if need be to accommodate our needs. The food is lovely no complaints either. The only thing I would say is that needs bikes for rental they used to have them but they are gone, the boys loved the football tennis table but the bikes are a must please.Also didn’t like that there wasn’t a kettle or coffee maker in the room! Lastly some parts of the hotel need maintenance particularly the pool decking, we had to remove quite a few wood chips that got stuck to our feet. Comfortable, clean hotel perfect for a short stay, with nice pool area, adequate buffet breakfast and friendly staff.
