If you want a beach holiday this is the place for you. It was very popular with people of all nationalities. There are lots of eating places to cater for all tastes but it would benefit from more evening entertainment.

I like the fact that it was a small town, easy to get around...
I like the fact that it was a small town, easy to get around, NO TRAFFIC LIGHTS - SUPER. Very relaxing. There was enough choice of restaurants to entertain oneself every day for 10 days. Easy access to the water's edge, no ferry or bus necessary.

We were there at the end of september, which means, not in the very busy season. Monte Gordo is a very nice place, calmer than many other in the Algarve. The most popular restaurant is the "Jaime", but there are others which we liked very much, also with authentic portuguese food and friendly service. The beach is great, very extensive, with a really long boardwalk lined with restaurants.

Small town vibe, great beaches, local restaurants and shops. If your looking for a quiet area to stay its great, except during any religious festivals. We stayed Sept.7th to the 13th and the first 3 nights didn't get much sleep because of loud music until 3am. Otherwise nice area to stay. Great for families.Cynthia - Scored 8.08.0

Monte Gordo is lovely and quiet. In April anyway. I know the Algarve and I can tell that Monte Gordo is the Opposite of Albufeira. Diferent kind of tourism. Less boozing.it hás the pinewoods where you can cycle or walk or Run, Vila Real de Sto Antônio is close by and there are markets on some weekends It is very close to Spain and Ayamonte is a cute place to visit or within less that two hours drive you could BE in Seville. Lots of lovely restaurants to choose from, lovely beach and boardwalk. Everything within easy walking distance from the hotel. Two excellent restaurants on the boardwalk are Bahia and Agostinha. Well worth visiting!

It was not located in the prettiest part of town but had a cosy and friendly feel to it. It was good value for money with a very varied and adequate breakfast buffet included in our price. A three-course dinner was offered at a reduced price for residents and better value than local restaurants. The reception, bar and catering staff could not have been more helpful and upbeat. They have been well-trained. If we return to Monte Gordo we will use the hotel again.
