Before I even arrived they were messaging me asking if they could do anything for me. They booked a taxi to pick me up at a winery and bring me there and also arranged for taxis while I was there. The staff was so nice and the room was spacious. I will be back

When booking a trip to Duoro valley, my parents and I were told Six Senses was a must, but upon doing a little research, I came across the newly opened Torel Quinta da Vacaria. With only 2 reviews at that time (be it they were both 10/10 recommend) I was a little apprehensive to take the risk, but got the feeling it would be more cosy and authentic to the region. So we booked the newly opened Torel Quinta da Vacaria and it was the BEST DECISION EVER! Words cant describe how incredible this hotel is!! From the staff, the facilities, the views, the grounds, the rooms, the decor, the pool, the spa, everything was exceptional- all you can expect from a 5 star hotel and then some! The hallways smell incredible! The beds were very comfortable. The mini bar, coffee, tea, water was plentiful. But What stood out was the staff. They are so incredibly kind and attentive. In addition to the somewhat expected courtesies of a 5 star Hotel (i.e. helping with bags, valeting the car, activity and restaurant advice) they truly went above and beyond- making arrangements with service providers outside of the hotel, leaving water bottles in our car for when we picked it up, being extremely patient with our constantly changing plans and our somewhat chaotic group, they were always happy to help with a smile. Last and most touching, i fell ill on our last day- they offered to allow me to stay as long as I needed to rest, (i slept until 3pm!) and even offered to call a doctor to come to the hotel. We enjoyed the restaurant, the wines, the pool, the spa and more. Everything was perfect!

It was a gorgeous location with an amazing view down the Douro River in a building that makes you feel like you walked into a fairytale. The room was just like the pictures, the breakfast room was stunning and the food was great, they even provided us with gluten free options. We did the wine tasting and and had a fabulous conversation with Phillipe the owner and met another couple that was staying there. We sat outside at a cute little Terrace area for the wine. The infinity pool was elegant but a little chilly in October. It's much bigger than expected.

We just stayed over here for a night because we had some wine tastings booked in the area. Since the price was a bargain I didn't expect much but I have to say this place was incredible. The staff were so friendly and everything was really clean. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to the Duoro Valley

    It's a great place to base out of to explore the Duoro. It's not a fancy town but there's plenty to see, some great places to dine, and the roads in and out of Regua allow easy access to the sites of the surrounding towns.

    All great!

    All great! Super views and close to downtown and boat launch area. A good location to take a day boat cruise on the Duoro, we took one that provided lunch and it was excellent. Also we took side trips to see Vila Real, the Coa Valley prehistoric art, Braganca up in mountains. All were exceptional. In Peso da Regua...check out the River Restaurant for wine tasting and great food.

    Loved the destination right in the heart of the Douro.

    Loved the destination right in the heart of the Douro. Easy to travel from Regua to other areas. Scenery spectacular. Tourist office left a bit to be desired not very helpful. Better response from cruise ticketing office staff. Would thoroughly recommend taking the day cruise from Regua to Porto stunning trip, great lunch on board and fun. Travelled back by train all organised and managed by Douro Cruises. Pinaho stunning should not be missed only sorry we didn’t stay there longer.

    This is a nice "vila" to stay if you want to be close to...

    This is a nice "vila" to stay if you want to be close to many activities in the Douro area. One can visit a lot of quintas, museums, churches and other "vilas" or "aldeias" around. There is a lot to do for every type of visitor.

    Stunning composite of rural Portugal.

    Stunning composite of rural Portugal. I highly recommend a drive through the surrounding countryside. If you choose to drive your own vehicle, the roads are NOT for the faint of heart. They are Narrow, windy, hilly, and have substantial dropoffs over the very hilly and mountainous terrain. That being said, the views are spectacular, and there are many hidden viewing points, which can be found via google, etc. Note attached photos. Easily worth the "bang for the buck" if traveling from Lisbon, etc. The roads to Peso da Regua are mostly four lane divided highways, and allow an easy trip to and from.

    We arrived on a Sunday, and only did the stay as a stop gap as the weather wasnt great. Barely anything was open to eat, so we struggled to find supper. We knew this may have been an issue, but it’s worth considering when planning your trip to smaller towns like this one.

    A m a s z i n g!!!! The most luxurious , well equipped, decorated apartmant! Big comfortable bedrooms , beautiful living room, balcony, 2 bathrooms, perfect kitchen with all the facilities you can think of. Located up ragua, in a new building with great view to douro river. Tia Maria spoiled us with delicious and generous breakfast. The place and the hospitslity are outstanding!

    The rooms are very clean and the breakfast is very good with a lot of variety. It also has an outdoor pool overlooking the Douro River, which is very good during the summer. Also, the location is great with grocery stores all around. The staff is also very nice!

    Lovely property overlooking Peso da Regua. The room was spacious and overlooked the swimming pool. The staff were very welcoming as was the glass of port offered on arrival. Short walk to group of restaurants in front of train station.

    The hotel is brand new and set on the banks of the Douro. Stunning rooms - very highly appointed. Superb spa. Gracious staff. Fabulous food. We could have stayed longer. The whole place is an island of serenity. We will return.
