Staying at The Social Hub Porto is always a treat—its playful interior and laid-back vibe perfectly match my mood in a city as vibrant as this. After exploring Porto on foot and staying in three different locations, I can confidently say this is my favorite spot. It's super central—just steps from main squares, lively streets, the train station, and a short downhill stroll to the Douro River. We lucked out with a room in the iconic curved façade, complete with big windows looking out over the street—absolutely gorgeous. The hotel itself is full of great amenities, but the rooftop bar and pool are the real cherry on top. Whether it’s morning coffee or an afternoon cooldown, it’s the perfect place to chill, recharge, or simply enjoy the view. With Porto’s amazing brunch scene just outside the door, we skipped the hotel breakfast and embraced the motto hanging on the flag in every room: "Let's stay in"—unless it's for pancakes. Next time I’m in Porto, I’ll be checking TSH availability first—no question about it.

This was our favourite hotel so far on our trip. Location a few steps to the River or a short walk to the historic centre of town was perfect. And yet the rooms were super quiet. Breakfast was included and was extensive and varied every day. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We highly recommend!

We had a great stay at the Wine & Books Porto Hotel. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel with contemporary décor, and we were warmly welcomed with cocktails upon arrival, which was such a nice touch. Our deluxe room was incredibly spacious! The shower was huge and very comfortable, and the bed was equally large and cozy, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The food was both generous and tasty, and the staff was kind and welcoming.

Great food / drink destination if you're a foodie; wonderful food courts and historic family delicatessens both selling mouthwatering produce. Sensible shoes are a must but up / down the hills are great for keeping up the daily steps tasks. Downside, quite a lot of traffic, bit polluted and some not so pleasant 'Mediterranean' aromas from time to time but nothing overly offensive. We had a great guide, Henrique, who took us to all the sights and more which we wouldn't have known about otherwise! Thank you Porto x

Please make sure to visit Porto it was honestly one of our best destinations! I absolutely loved the library, although I do think they should allow fewer people inside, as it was very crowded. I’m not really a seafood person, so the local cuisine wasn’t always to my taste, but it’s definitely worth trying because Porto also has plenty of other dishes that are absolutely delicious. Getting around was very easy. Since we were traveling as a family, we mostly used Bolt, which was both cheap and fast. Simply exploring the city, visiting parks, and enjoying the beautiful views already made the trip amazing.

Far too touristy for my liking, too many big, noisy tour groups. Was there for 7 nights (6 days) and spent three of those days out of centre of town. Relatively expensive for both food and entry fees to attractions, so did few. You can see quite a bit just walking around but could easily spend €50-100 on entry fees too. Metro, local trains and buses work well and are reasonably priced.

The city is ideal for a minibreak.

The city is ideal for a minibreak. The riverside is. a great place for a meal and to relax with beautiful views. The city itself has many wonderful churches and a magnificent cathedral for those interested in this. The ice cream shops are well worth a visit and the food is perfectly good in the street cafes. The Portuguese are the most helpful and hospitable people I have ever met in my many years of travel. When we visited I was in a wheelchair or on crutches. Porto is not a good city for the disabled as the pavements and roads are often damaged or cobbled and the hills are very steep with many steps up to the some of the historic buildings. 2-4 day stay is ideal for this city, particularly if you are interested in historical architecture. Vila Nova de Gaia (the city on the other side of the Dom Luis 1 Bridge) is another great place to sit and watch the world go by with beautiful views of Porto and many restaurants and attractions including the Port wineries.

It is very hilly and only suitable for reasonably fit people. There is a major problem with graffiti and building noise. The city did grow on us, however and we enjoyed our stay. So many restaurants to chose from and most are good value. Particularly recommended the Sandeman Terrance and Luzzo Pizzza.

I’ve stayed in many hotels across Portugal through my work, but Porto Arts Club is one of a kind. It feels less like a hotel and more like a home, full of character, warmth, and intention. Thoughtful design, beautiful details, and a very serene atmosphere. A heartfelt thank you to the team for their warm welcome, and especially to Paula for her kindness and care - even with the laundry! It’s those gestures that make the difference :)

Everything about our stay was absolutely excellent. The staff went above and beyond, the breakfast was amazing, and the room and hotel is stunning. The location is perfect to access the main attractions in Porto. Our stay here was not only the best out of all the places we stayed during our visit to Portugal, but also is in one of the top 5 hotels we have ever stayed at, period. I cannot recommend this place enough.
