    Not much to do, in my opinion there are much nicer places to visit. Nicer beaches with warmer water. Parking is a huge problem and the locals do not like even trying to communicate in English. I guess it depends what you like. Would definately rather visit Al Garve.

    Very clean, friendly area with plenty options for food, shops, supermarkets, all within walking distance. the beach front is excellent. Bar Nautico, Albtroz and Taberna Londrino all do excellent food and reasonable prices. try the Francisinhas. it was a new experience for me and I loved it!

    Póvoa de Varzim is well placed for visiting the area of Vila...

    Póvoa de Varzim is well placed for visiting the area of Vila do Conde and even Porto which is about 20 km away. Further north there are lovely beaches eg Púlia. And a surf schoool in Estela. It is on the pilgrims route to Compostela.

    Quiet city. Nice beaches with nice promenads. Apart from that, a very "dead" city. To the point where we had to go to the Casino to see and do something. And the Casino was pretty bad as well. Might be good for families, but not if you look for good food, bars, museums or culture. Boring

    This is a popular resort with Portuguese families who make up the huge majority of visitors here - not many Brits and not much English spoken. Big clean beaches - sea very cold even in July, Huge activity on the beach - these people play Basketball and Beach Volleyball all day and all night! Vast range of restaurants and other bars etc, and all very reasonably priced - did not feel we were paying the same prices we were paying in Porto itself.

    Situated on the beach, away from the town yet close enough to geht everywhere most easily - even Oporto Airport was but a really quick drive. We ended our vacation there, more or less by chance. It wrapped up a splendid holiday in Portugal most perfectly! Friendliest and most helpful staff ever, most deliciuos authentical food and right at the seafront. We are sure to book here again when returning.

    Hotel Torre Mar is modern, clean and comfortable. Good location for drivers, on the national road just north of Povoa de Varzim. There are restaurants, including one excellent seafood restaurant close by. A very good breakfast buffet is available every morning.

    The location was lovely. Staff really helpful and friendly. Hotel is a little old, simple, but nice and clean. Great for a one night stay, in a quiet location, and yet not too far from Porto airport. Basic but nice breakfast in the morning and ample parking.
