Beautiful location inside a park! Our room had a small balcony that overlooked the river. A very relaxing, comfortable and tranquil setting. Modern amenities in the room. Very friendly and welcoming staff, beautiful dining room looking out into the park.

From the moment we arrived at Hotel Republica we felt welcomed despite being hot and dishevelled from a big day of hiking. This was one of the most friendly receptions we have had during our two weeks in Portugal. Nothing was too much trouble, including room service provided early from the Restaurant Menu when the All Day Menu was not available. We requested an extra night and again, no problem at all. Breakfast options at the restaurant were exceptional and the service, equally as good. The coffee machine in the room was awesome, the beds luxurious and the bathroom stylish and clean. The minibar was well stocked and an abundance of room snacks were available.

This is a fairly new hotel in an old building which has endeavoured to retain many lovely features while also modernising . Although a few winding corridors it is light and airy . Our room was spacious with high ceilings , wardrobe , desk, bedside tables and one comfy chair ( 2 would be good). A bay window , good curtains , lovely linen and good lighting and excellent A/C. A large bathroom ( for those with some mobility issues) with accessible shower , generous vanity and supplies. The room had a mini fridge and a coffee maker -but we rarely drink coffee -so we were supplied with tea pots which could be filled in the guest lounge area at any time . This was greatly appreciated. This lovely guest section on first floor had expansive lounges, bar, tea supplies, and a welcoming library -all attractively furnished. The reception staff and breakfast staff were cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. We appreciated all their help and advice. The breakfast was plentiful. The hotel is in a central location - a tight fit for cars but easy walking to all the towns cafes, parks and river. The old castle etc are a fair distance up steep hills. The town is lovely and lively .

Hotel staffs are very nice and helpful to provide the information about Festa Templária and assist us to get the bus information in local. Hotel Sinagoga may not a new one, but pretty nice and clean. It’s in the central location and easy to walk to visit all those scenic spots in Tomar.

    Room, location, cleanliness, breakfast and staff courtesy where excellent. Only drawback was the Wi-Fi connection. The only network with sufficiently strong signal was the one shared with the TV, which required a new setup (new password) to connect to the Wi-Fi every time the TV was turned off (like when we left the room).

    A small city with an impressive history.

    A small city with an impressive history. The Templars castle, church, convent above all. A great number of historical buildings well restored, some with new functions like gallery. Very special Santa Maria do Olival on the other river side and hidden in a small street the synagogue.

    We chose Tomar because we had stayed in your hotel some seven years previously. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel, Tomar and the surrounding area that time. Given that my son and his wife were travelling from the Algarve it made sense to meet up at a near central point. The historical aspect of Tomar was outstanding in particular and was greatly enjoyed by the four of us.

    Tomar is a lovely city, although it's more the size of a small town. It has lots of character and is very neat and tidy. The architecture of the city is lovely and being on a river adds to it's charm. If you're looking for a quieter time away from the hustle and bustle then I would thoroughly recommend it. There are many places to eat and the prices are really reasonable compared to the UK (around 50%) The Templar Castle and Convent of Christ is a must visit.

    The 10-minute walk to the amazing Convento do Cristo / Templar Castle, the historic city square, the nearby Aqueduto de Pegões, and the easy proximity to Fatima, Alcobaça, and Batalha were “tourism” favorites. Also, there’s an amazing gelateria two doors away from the Hotel República, and plenty of restaurants, pubs, and shopping (not just souvenir shops) and wonderful architecture nearby. Tomar’s old city is at once charming and peaceful — especially along the riverfront parks — and also chock full of places to see and enjoy.

    Tomar is a nice and clean town with the Convento de Cristo (a main attraction in Portugal) and a beautiful historic center. It has very good parking facilities. We had dinner in a very good restaurant.

    High-level hotel, beautiful structure, free parking. Professional staff. Spacious room and shower. Excellent location in the center of Tomar. Our room had a view on the river, the park and on the other side on the castle, what a nice way to end and begin the day! Excellent breakfast. The pool looked very inviting, pity we didn't have the time to try it. An excellent stay indeed.

    Everything was wonderful: central location, a few minutes walk to restaurants. Helpful staff. Welcome Porto glass. Great breakfast. And - a terrace with a view at the castle. Sunset, oh! Self service bar with incredibly low prices so we had a glass of Mateus rose wine every evening. Loved every bit of our stay in Tomar and Thomar hotel :)))

    The staff were amazing - especially Joseph the patron of the restaurant - I loved the ravioli and on my last night it was not available so he had the chef prepare it for me for lunch the next day ! what attention ! what amazing service ! The hotel is fabulous, the location is the best in Tomar and the staff are exceptional !

    Great location, in the center of Tomar, close to many attractions, restaurants, and supermarkets. The swimming pool was definitely a plus, situated in the back of the hotel, very quiet and clean. The staff was very friendly, and attended to all our requests. Thank you very much for your kind service, would definitely return.
