the owner, Ana, is amazingly attentive, caring and helpful! she not only served us fresh local bread and cheese ♥️, but invited us to all the activities of the winter solstice festival in town and offered us to harvest any fruit that grows in the property (i’d got a bag of persimmons!).

The staff could not have been more accommodating, especially the young man and older woman (Alexandrina) who helped us with our very heavy luggage! He even gave us a bigger room when he saw how much baggage we had. The room had a balcony with table (for a picnic), chairs and a beautiful view, which was even better at sunset. Buffet breakfast (included) was extensive and varied. We were able to park on the street, literally at the door of the hotel. The women did yeoman service on our huge pile of laundry. Exceptional service and value for the money. There was also a small fitness room with equipment.

Maria made us feel welcome. She is justifiably proud of her lovely home/accomodation. It felt peaceful to be a little out of town. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Do not avoid this place, I bet, you will never regret it. Despite being in the middle of nowhere and at a very low price this small hotel is a star. Well equipped, air-conditioned with the Daikin, big enough room. Great self-service breakfast in the morning. Shared real kitchen, soundproof -- what else you can find for such money? As a bonus -- a small restaurant on the first floor (no smells, no noises). And the restaurant deserves a special review -- very traditional and delicious food, not healthy, thanks God. The food as the food must be -- a lot, cheap and tasty. Not for smoothy-lovers. Traveling by Portugal? Be like a Portuguese. Ah, and the staff -- outstandingly friendly

    Vale de Porco is situated 10km from the small town of Mogadouro. The area is sparsely populated and largely free of significant traffic (even on the IC5 main road). The countryside is hilly, partly wooded, vines, olives and hay fields. There are lots of footpaths and the walking is not too strenuous. A car (or bicycle) is essential as there are few buses and no trains. Eating out has to be in Mogadouro, where there is also a supermarket.
