Located in front of the beach, Albergaria Quim Barreiros offers views of the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains of Vila Praia De Âncora. It features bright rooms and free Wi-Fi. Perfect location for walking the Camino. Room overlooking the ocean that was probably 20yards away. The waves put you to sleet
Situated in the wind-protected valley of Vila Praia de Âncora, this 4-star hotel is only 2 minutes’ walk from the beach. The welcoming restaurant adds to the hotel’s traditional, warm atmosphere. Excellent position in the centre of the high street. We were traveling on motorcycles and the hotel locked them safely away in there underground car park

Located in Vila Praia de Âncora and with Forte Do Cao Beach reachable within 1 mi, Abrigo and Restaurant Portinho features express check-in and check-out, nonsmoking rooms, a restaurant, free WiFi... The hosts helpful, friendly, how clean the place was everyday. The location was amazing.
Located in Vila Praia de Âncora, 0.9 mi from Forte Do Cao Beach, Guest House D'Avenida offers beachfront accommodations and various facilities, such as a terrace. This property is in an ideal location. It was very clean and had a very useful kitchen. The shared bathroom was clean and hot water a plenty. Great little bar at the front door and one of the best locations to watch the sunset.
Vivenda Atlantico is located in Vila Praia de Âncora, 1.7 mi from Arda Beach, and provides a balcony, garden, and free WiFi. The owners are so friendly and helpful. The house is so spacious and nicely furnished. The shower is amazing and has a on demand. Hot water heater. There is a covered area to hang laundry. It is in a wonderful quiet location. Great place to recharge for another day on the Camino.
It is a low key town. There is a boardwalk that stretches along the river and the coast. You can walk for miles in pure tranquil beauty. The beach is clean and beautiful. The train and bus stop regularly so it is accessible.
The host made sure I was comfortable, kept it spotlessly clean, and gave extra service of laundry. The beach was about a mile away and was absolutely stunning. The supermarket was 4 blocks away. The kitchen was well equipped.
The accommodation is really comfortable for people walking along the Camino to Santiago, that is equipped with everything you could need, but what we liked the most was the kindness of the staff. I would recommend that!
There is a really excellent restaurant in town with a wood-fired pizza oven. They offer a great variety of food and Dao wine at about EUR7. If you're facing the big church in the main plaza, go to the left and keep walking for 100 yards or so and you'll see the restaurant on the left. The service is great. There is also a great, friendly local bar across the road from the restaurant - it's got wooden tables outside. Don't be put off if it looks a bit rough and ready. The staff are great. They also provide very good value food. There is also an excellent bakery in town - just ask for directions and you won't be disappointed.
Amazing scenery, both thanks to the river and the ocean. The sunset was incredible. Lots of little restaurants and cafes to explore. It was very calm, though I guess there are more tourists during the summer. Very well located for if you are planning to visit (by train or car) the north coastline. We went from Viana all the way up to Cerveira and it was always so easy to hop on the train and get back to Ancora.
A fishing village with a great beach (good for kids, the river in the middle of it creates small swimming-pools...). This village is quite dynamic and has people and activities all year round. It is also great for foodies - many great restaurants and bakeries! And don't forget the mountains, which are great for hikes... There's even a pre-historic monument to discover - this wonderful location has been known for a long time.
