Hôtel les Bougainvilliers is situated within a 5-minute drive of Saint-Gilles-les-Bains, 400 metres from the beach. Free WiFi and free private parking is available on site. I loved the friendliness of the people and the boutique feel. A truly original and well designed tropical setting. Small but beautifully thought out.
Hotel De la Plage is located a short walk from Roches Noires Beach, shops and the marina and offers a terrace and free WiFi. Great location, in the middle of all the action, it won't be a quiet evening but you are super close to the beach with lots of great places to catch a bite
Le Kerveguen is located within 5 minutes’ drive from the beaches of Saint-Gilles, situated on a hill offering panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. Very nice, clean and quiet hotel with the possibility of own cooking. Nearby is a supermarket. From this place, you can admire the beauties of nature and the surrounding beaches (by car). We recommend this option!
Located in the famous sea resort of Saint-Gilles, along the west coast of the island of Réunion, this hotel features an outdoor swimming pool. A car rental service is provided. Location of the hotel is great. Rooms are comfortable, clean and kitchenette contains all necessary stuff. Pool view of the rooms make feel relaxed...
Just 200 metres from the beach, Hôtel Le Récif provides Creole villas spread around 3 hectares of tropical gardens with 2 outdoor pools. It features a restaurant and a gazebo terrace. Very friendly and helpful staff, spoke english which is not always the place on the island. Excellent location, few meters from the lagoon where swimming is possible (mostly not on the island because of sharks).
Offering an outdoor pool and a restaurant, Les Aigrettes is located in Saint-Gilles-les Bains and 10 minutes' walk from the beaches of of Roches-Noires and the town centre. Staff will contact and secure all needs while you are touring. Super friendly and helpful

Le Saint Michel is located in Saint-Gilles-les-Bains, just a 6-minute drive from Roche Noire Beach and the Reunion Aquarium. It offers a tropical garden, sea views and a swimming pool. The room was comfortable and had its own terrace with table and chairs right next to the pool.
The Alamanda is situated 150 metres from the Ermitage lagoon and features air-conditioned rooms with a private terrace or balcony. The palm garden has an outdoor pool and sun terrace. Good position close to the beach and some shops

If you cannot speak French, then it will be difficult to understand each other in English sometimes. You need to hire a car to get around - far out to the The Volcan, but nice trip even if you drive there yourself. Lots of accitivites for young people, surfing etc. Amazing structures of bridges on Reunion.
If you like the beach, clear blue sea St-Gilles is for you. This part of the island is made for this with the montagnes blocking the clouds. L'ermitage is beautiful lagoon beach were you can swim without fear of sharks. The piccolo was a great restaurant
A lovely little town to stroll around Good shops and places to eat Parking not easy however. Lots to do there Tried to do a bike ride though and sadly the guy never got back to us when he said he would and then we wasted a day as we were too late to organise something else for the next day instead. All in all though a great stay
We actually spent more time in Boucan Canout, as Saint-Gilles-Les-Bains was a short drive away. Both lovely areas, beautiful beaches, but sadly unable to swim due to the shark issue, and in effective shark nets! Enjoyed some lovely meals and would defiantly recommend "bamboo" restaurant at Boucan Canout. Locals all very friendly, we were a little concerned with our lack of French, but most were happy to try to communicate with us in English. Loved the harbour at St-Giles, and amazing sunsets. Would also recommend the boat trip from the sae life centre, do see the Dolphins. Great staff/crew, and wasn't too expensive.
Stayed at Hotel de la Plage - best location available. Great little shops, very young and funky vibe. We sat on the pier and watched fish swimming on the coral reef. Hazbar at sunset for cocktails is a must! Try a burger at 66 Burger Club, you won't regret it :) Walk along the harbour towards l' Ermitage to get to the beach swing bar. Also, the walk to l' Ermitage itself is about a half hour, and the swimming when you get there is well worth it! (Or be patient enough to wait for a 'tik tik' to drive you there)
The fact that you could swim safely on the beach, and snorkel on the Coral Reef without fear of being made a sharks midday meal. The town is clean and had everything that one needed. A lovely summer holiday vibe, BUT dreadfully busy on a Sunday! So if you like a quieter beach, avoid on Sundays. Very easy to get around! Nice beach pubs.

The staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The kitchen was great and very convenient given the prices of food etc in Réunion. The hotel was nice enough to offer sand toys to our daughters and provide us with snorkeling equipment for free. The hotel also had a wash line area to hang wet towels etc.

Friendly staff, lovely hotel and pool facilities. Great location close to the beach and bars. Loved the table tennis in the communal area and it was a huge bonus to have a shower room to use after check out before our overnight flight.

The staff is very friendly and useful, the location is great (conveniently close to 'Route des Tamarins') and the pool looks great (although I didn't try it). The hotel is very quiet with no nuisance whatsoever.
