FAQs about hotels in Bucharest

Where Modern Meets Old

A fascinating mix of old and new, Bucharest is one of those cities where you can find a futuristic structure of glass and steel next to an old church, separated by a Communist-style massive edifice. Not overwhelmed by its dark past, the city is now turning its optimistic face towards the West.

Undergoing constant modernization, the city continually changes and new modern structures pop up in the city center and beyond. Great examples are the stunning Basarab Bridge, Europe’s widest cable bridge, and the City Gate Towers.

While admiring the new, don’t miss out on the old classics, like the Parliament Palace, the world’s second largest building, with over 3100 rooms and impressive marble interiors covering 81.5 acres. Make sure you check out the view from Nicolae Ceauşescu's balcony!

To fully appreciate the city’s long history, from Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) to the ’89 revolution, the city offers free guided walking tours, giving you a great opportunity to discover all the city’s secrets. And spot all the best shopping venues!

Before you land at Bucharest Airport, just 11 miles from the city center, make sure you check what Booking.com has to offer: from hotels to apartments, just a few clicks away!

The old town is easy to walk around and very interesting. If you want to visit the parliament, you need to book in advance as there were no walk ups when we visited. I felt safe walking around the city

There is a lot to visit in Bucharest!

There is a lot to visit in Bucharest! I would recommend House of parliament, Ceaucescu's house, Cismigiu gardens, Herastrau park. If you want to eat well and authentic Hanu lui Manuc and Caru cu bere are fabulous restaurants. If you want to see Bucharest at night buzzing of atmosphere then it has to be OLD TOWN. Pub terrace, after pub terrace with an amazing atmosphere.

Bucharest is not a holiday destination, the central areas look run down. We found the Romanian people were, on the whole, discourteous and unhelpful, especially the sales staff in the AFI Mall. We will never return

Bucharest is a large busy city with lots of interesting historical sites. I did a two hour walking tour mainly in the old town area which I would recommend. The open top bus tour is also a good way of seeing the main sites. The old town has lots of restaurants and bars.

A nice city for 2-4 days' visit. Don't miss the Parliament guided tour and the old town restaurants. Public transport is good and inexpensive. The city is one of the cleanest capitals I have been to. If you think you have seen enough of it, go to Sinaia for a day trip.

It's a fantastic hotel, we liked absolutely everything about it. Great location, in the heart of the old town, lovely atmosphere, very good breakfast, comfy beds, and friendly staff. There a couple of museums just a few minutes away, lots of restaurants, bars, and tourist attractions. I recommend Uber for the airport transfer as it's very affordable in Bucharest. We will definitely stay at Concorde again, if we revisit Bucharest.

Great location, close to the old town. We had a family room which was spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Daniela on reception was welcoming and assisted us with a booking for the Palace of Parliament. At breakfast Ella was lovely and made the best coffee ever! It was very hot in Bucharest and the AC worked well. Would highly recommend this hotel.

My favorite hotel in Bucharest. It's a little gem close to centrum. The kitchen i will give 5 stars. I called it Cinderella hotel because it is small and cosy. They only have 5 room's so you need to book a week before. There's a reason it always fully booked. I can only recommend this nice little hotel. Bo karup. Denmark.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Emma! The rooms are spacious, super clean, and have everything you could possibly need. It’s in a convenient spot too — just a short 10–15 minute walk to public transport, and from there you’re in the city centre in about 20 minutes. A great choice if you’re visiting Bucharest!
