We came to Gelendzhik for a triathlon race. Staff was very friendly and manager agreed to organise breakfast for us and other guests early in the morning on the race day. Oat porridge was tasty. Before booking I saw comment with complains about breakfast, seemed hotel had already fixed that. Breakfast was outstanding. Location was close to city center, embankment and race Expo. The room itself was tastefully furnished and decorated, especially the bathroom, which was full of light and air. The only shortcoming I can think of is insufficient lighting in the room, at night it was a bit too dark. There was very good noise isolation, when we closed balcony door no sound came from outside. The suite was cleaned promptly on a daily basis. And the complimentary sweets at the reception counter are not to be missed out on.

Overall I enjoyed Gelendzhik, my timing for going there...
Overall I enjoyed Gelendzhik, my timing for going there wasn't the best but helped getting an overall rest that I was looking for. I stayed a little bit right of center of the bay in a part of the town that has little of interest. Most of the activity is on the left side of the bay with very little on the right side. To speak honestly the right side was unimpressive. If I was to travel there again I would want to be closer to the action. But it's no match for Sochi, from infrastructure, parks, entertainment, and restaurants. I did find a couple of nice restaurants in Gelendzhik but overall the experience wasn't what I thought it was going to be.
