Kupechesky Dvor is located in historical center of Irkutsk and 130 quarter. The hotel's building is a unique historic reconstruction of a traditional Siberian countryside house. We had an absolutely perfect experience here! The hotel itself is located in the neat 'Trendy Quarter' and it looks brand new. Checking in was smooth and our room had everything we needed. The staff was super nice/helpful and even prepared us breakfast-to-go as we had to leave very early in the morning.

The International Hotel Sayen is a design boutique hotel located in the heart of Irkutsk city. It has spacious rooms, 2 restaurants, a traditional Japanese spa and free WiFi . The hotel is amazing. I've been to many fancy hotels like Hilton, Maryott, Sheraton etc. Sayen beats them all. Great attention to details. The best breakfast a-la-carte at the rooftop restaurant. Sound comfort. Terrace in deluxe room. Automatic curtains, bathroom music, nice wine with wine glasses in the room. It was my first time when the word "deluxe" really meant it. My first 10 points on booking.com

Don't stay at Irkutsk, visit Baikal lake instead :) Irkutsk for me is a just a city to flight in. Get taxi or bus to get to Listvyanka town and see the Baikal and Angara river. And dive into it, it's cold and you'll reboot your brain :)
I traveled in the winter which is quite cold there. The city center has some interesting places and architecture, for example, 130 Kvartal. I would also recommend to take a trip to Lake Baikal or to walk along the promenade at the river Angara. There are also some interesting historical places such as Decabrist museums. You can find some good restaurants with traditional food such as Kochevnic (Mongolian food) or Old Cafe.
Interesting city, interesting history. You can meet the history walking in the streets of the city. Architectural monuments, museums, monuments, churches meeting all we need a tourist in a modern city.
nice and compact town , suitable for ones who love to spend their slow lives sipping coffe ,sauntering But the travelers may be ok to send at most 3 days here since there s nothing much to do, personally I love
A must-stop point if you are on the Trans-Siberian/Trans-Manchurian/Trans-Mongolian railway. Not advisable to just stay for a day or two as there are lots of things to do! It is a gateway to many day and short trips out (eg. Circum-Baikal Railway, Irkutsk City Free/DIY Tour, Trekking along Baikal on part of the Great Baikal Trail, Day trips to Listvyanka, Olkhon Island) Food and Accommodation are priced reasonably. We had meals for 3 at an average of not more than 2000 rubles. Highly recommend: Шашлык-бар Антрекот with good food and good price. Beware of the 'taxi services' at the Irkutsk train station even when they say its on meter. We got ripped off by a driver and paid 2000rubs for a journey from the train-station to the central bus station. Download Maxim/Yandex they work like Uber and driver pick-up is pretty fast too!
A great place to spend a few nights and its a gateway to the island and other attractions. There is also some history to experience, eg the eternal flame. The churches / places of worship are beautiful to see and some are open to the public. We enjoyed our stay.
