Formerly the Volga River pier, this boutique hotel is located in Kostroma city center, 10 minutes’ walk from Susaninskaya Ploshchad. It offers a restaurant and rooms with a flat-screen TV. Great view to frozen volga in winter. Good location and not far from city center. Clean enough. Reasonable price.
Located on the Volga River bank in Kostroma, Moskovskaya Zastava Hotel offers free WiFi. All rooms are air conditioned room and come with a flat-screen TV. The hotel is located just 12 minutes from the railway station on the bank of the Volga river. Very neat, clean, comfortable. Picturesque surroundings. Nice rooms with everything you need. Maybe a little bit stuffy at night but that's probably because the weather was very warm (the air conditioner is available for those who can sleep with it). The breakfast was decent. Clean towels, water and tea/coffee refills daily. If I come to Kostroma again, most likely I will choose this hotel again.

Kostroma is a beautiful city even if it is not too big, the modernization of public buildings here is a bit late compared to many other cities in Russia. However, it is worth visiting this city on the way to the golden ring. the prices are cheaper than in other tourist cities in the area. The monastery of the city is worth seeing.
Famous old town associated with Romanov family. Historical one, full of monuments, but unfortunately in poor condition. Service became much better comparing with one decade ago, nice bars and hotels can be found. Prices could be lower, indeed. Worth visiting at least once.
It is very nice place, a lot to see (monestary, museum). I was to short to see all I want. Using the bus is easy, but you need to have google map, so there you can see which bus to take. At the old archade is good shopping.

This hotel is beautiful. There had been so much attention to detail in every aspect of the decorations. It was spotless. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The breakfast buffet was also among the best I have ever enjoyed. Staff members were very friendly and helpful. Excellent restaurants for casual dining were close by. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and strongly recommend it. It was very reasonably priced.
When I was in Kostroma, I stopped at Academy of hostel. The location of the hostel is very comfortable, it's just few minutes of walk to the center and also near by river Volga! The hostel is very unique, it's has its own atmosphere, it feels like home! The kitchen is really nice here, it's big and cosy! The stuff here is amazing, they are very friendly, special shout out to them!
Remodeled 100+ years old traditional Russian village house. Full kitchen, large suite. Close to city center (15 minute walk). Very nice owner, free home made welcome pirogy (very tasty).
Very good hotel. Large parking, there is some fun activities inside territory: sauna, cafes, hippodrome. Quiet green park around. Tasty meals, a bit oversalted though:)
The place is amazing! A room with Volga view is fantastic! Everything is clean and pleasant. Breakfast is good. I think that this is the best choice in Kostroma.
