great place and I met aurora!! I stay a long time in Teriberka. It's a peaceful place to hunt aurora. if you miss that you can still find a aurora hunter at Murmanks. ps. the food in Murmanks is also great. you should try in hunter restaurant.
Murmansk is a surprising city to say the least. It has interesting museums, lots of public art, incredible nature and magical views in winter. It has very severe Soviet aesthetics throughout the city, some of it beautiful stalinkas and lots of it residential Khrushchevkas. It's part frozen wonderland when you walk in the hills in winter and part eerie eastern bloc towers when you wander between high rises to the mall or bars. It is the most Russian feeling city I've seen my whole time in Russia. I will come back. I cooked the whole time I was there so I don't know local restaurants, but the ledokol Lenin and aljosha were my two favourite things. The buses aren't bad in Murmansk but I largely walked, the city is very dense so everything is within an hour if you know where you're going. Try to catch the northern lights, you'll at least see how beautiful the country side is
Love the Husky farm and Teribeka Village. The food was good especially the dish from Cod fish which is local fish there. We are lucky to catch some aurora during our trip just 60 km. away from the main city. It was incredible and would recommend to other who would like to find same experience here
Went in summer. Serene & quiet with crisp fresh cooling air. I enjoyed my stay as its nice to get some calm away from the bustling big cities of St Petersburg or Moscow. People were friendlier & more helpful.
The area is beautiful. We went to the coast and into the mountains as well as visited the Saami village. Our evenings was spent Northern light hunting...to no avail. Day-trips involve many hours in a vehicle as the roads are slow going due to snow and ice. We used a tour company that I feel was over priced and misled us a little regarding some points The tour guides were, however, very professional and friendly. If I had to go again I would use one of the locals, like our apartment owner, to give me advice and tips on what to do and how to do it.
I loved the city and saw a lot of the monuments, walked up and down streets and generally explored. It is really hard to find people who speak English so ensure that you have arranged taxis beforehand to get you to and from your hotel/airport/train station. I struggled a bit with this because I tried to book a taxi when I arrived
The hotel rooms are peaceful and warm. House lady Cloudia is super nice old lady. She will do extra care for you and puts everything in order. I recommend everyone stays there. I felt more comfortable there than any five star hotel. Miss Cloudia is an example of superwoman host. You will feel that you are staying at your grandma place
i like so much location and decor... i fely taht i m in usa .. all style is modern art in hotel... so clean and regular... all staff are so kindly and positive... if u have any problem they are running to help u .. lovely all staff... thank u so much for all attention...
What a nice surprise this was. Clean, well equipped, friendly staff, cozy, we could also get our clothes washed in the washing machine for a small fee. Everywhere were some knick-knacks with rabbits (the hotel name means 3 rabbits) which was cute.
The welcoming, organized, to the point, 24/7 responsive staff at the property and the driver -- who met my 3am flight and took me to the hotel for an extra charge -- were unsurpassed!
The hotel was so cozy. Free water, coffee/tea and cookies for the guests. Grocery is just across. Staff are all nice. Restaurant food is good. Location is good.
The restaurant/bar on the 17th floor had excellent food. The fitness room was much better than a typical hotel fitness room.
Nice hotel, very clean, excellent welcoming and arranging staff.
Comfortable room, Friendly staff (compare to other russian)
