I rested in Nizhny Novgorod during the New Year holidays, so we attended New Year's events. Taxi prices are cheap in the city. The main attraction is Pokrovskaya Street, which ends in front of the Kremlin. Beautiful view. Liked the cable car, very large and low price. I also walked around the town of Bor, a very interesting town. A very interesting souvenir shop "Molodist" with a cafe, I also recommend to visit. I also recommend taking a car and driving around the city, as the atmosphere of the city center is very different from the residential areas.
A city which has a great historical part on the east bank of Oka river that any tourist will like. Amazing views of Volga and Oka rivers, historical castle, cozy walking streets and the kind of aged Russian architecture that has already disappeared from bigger cities, mostly wooden or stone.
There's a lot of history in Nizhny and around & about, including trades and crafts, industry, museums & shopping (much cheaper here, esp for gifts, arts & crafts & a full range of traditional Russian goods sold, even made in the region). Some Russian would be helpful as few people speak English (ask younger people if help needed). Good museums. Cheap to stay, eat, shop. Beautiful vistas, two huge rivers, boat trips, history & architecture.
A very friendly city, with beautiful buildings overlooking the confluence of two large rivers. Two parts to the city provide different experiences. English is spoken by a good few people making it an easy place to visit. Lots of bars and restaurants, including a great Georgian one in the lower city Wine and Kachapuri on Rozhdvestenskaya Street. On the same floor as the Technical museum there’s a superb local craft shop excellent for handmade jewellery at reasonable prices. Wonderful views from The Kremlin.
Cozy city with great history, wide landscapes and pleasant views over two rivers banks. 2 kn historical pedestrian street in the city center. Kremlin is full of modern buildings and administrative facilities. Due to big hills little bit hard to work over the city center. But there is a circle bus, riding across main historical points. Cableway across Volga river is worth-visiting.
The city itself is history. Numerous museums and monuments, each streets carefully stores piece of history and there are many nice green areas to visit. The promenades on highlands has amazing views and the sunsets are stunning. Highly recommend for everyone who wants to explore Russia.
The hotel occupies a historic building in a very picturesque location, where two rivers Volga and Oka meet each other, and near the famous cathedral. The hotel has a beautiful interior design, the rooms are very clean and cozy. The staff was very welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent with variety of choices for any taste.
The breakfast was good, but there were not enough choices (e.g. fruits, cheese). I especially like the room, the modern facilities of the hotel and the SPA. The hotel is located close to the city center and to the main sights of the city.
Clean, modern, affordable hotel with different kinds of rooms. Super friendly and accommodating staff, always ready to help. Breakfast is delicious and various. I’ll definitely stay here every time I visit Nizhniy Novgorod :)
Brand new hotel, excellent location, decent breakfast, nicest and very professional reception personnel with good English (Alexandra and others), attentive restaurant personnel, very quiet room (facing back yard).
The location is excellent, on the pedestrian street and near the Kremlin. The staff is very caring and helpful. Rooms are comfortable with good beds and big lockers.
Super nice staff, clean modern rooms, cozy back yard comes very handy if you have a pet. The hotel has a restaurant on-site that works until 1:00 am.
The room was large and comfortable. Also, the Lounge is a good feature for the hotel. Location is perfect, right in the center of the city.
Nothing at all. Pictures and info about hotel are all not the way was described on booking.com Old Soviet inner and service
