Rostov is a big city. While staying there it was about 0 degree, so walking the city and the sights was a challenge and cold. I will recommend to start walking all the Pushkinskaya street to the October Revolution park, then turn back the Bolshaya Sadovaya street. After this round trip you should have familiarized yourself with the centre. I liked the Smetana restaurant in the Bol. Sadovahya street, and Osaka in Voroshilovsky Prospect. For taxi, download the YandexTaxi app, cheap and easy to use. You need internet though. Get a tourist prepaid sim-card. I don't use smartphone at home, but when travelling it's a must.
Great southern Russian city with interesting architecture. A very nice weekend stay. The city is growing and becoming more modern and comfortable with new locations. It is nice to walk near the Don river and taste local specialties, quite a few tea places.
Very green, vibrant southern Russian city with lots to see and do. Some very good restaurants and cafes (Пить Кофе is a great local coffee chain that is far superior to anything I've seen elsewhere - Costa Coffee, Cafe Nero or Starbucks are pathetic by comparison). Both Russian and Georgian cusines are well represented. Due to its riverside location on the mighty Don, lots of excellent fish in all forms and shapes is available. While in summer, when the city really comes into its own, one will gravitate towards the enbankment, river cruises and the many parks and boulevards (esp Pushkinskaya Street), at other times there are some great performances to be caught at the drama and music theatres, concert halls and the excellent local circus. It's not a showcase city like Moscow or St Petersburg, but if it's real Russia you are after, Rostov is a great place to spend a few days, especially between May and September. For context - I am a native of the city but until recently had not been back for many years, and was amazed to see how much it had changed (mostly for the better).
I only saw the area in the vicinity of my hotel, but idiots driving past at night with loud music blaring and folk asking you for cigarettes doesn’t tell me that this was the posh end of town. There seem to be an abundance of kebab houses and other fast food outlets nearby.
Due to Football World Cup half of city is blocked... Lot of footsteps needed... Big minus is poor knowledge of english (or any other) language Of Rostov's citizens... Public transportation (buses) are old, not maintaned and not comfortable... Highly recommendation to make boat trip on the Don river...
The hotel situated in the middle of the night club’s area. If you plan to spend a night outside the hotel , this hotel is for you. In other case no chance to sleep. Reception service has a big space for improvement. I had a feeling come to their own house without invitation and payment . Cleaning team was very kind , but if you are waiting for changing towels and cleaning the room you should ask in advance, may be.
The overall experience was very good, the staff members were so supportive and helpful. they were ready to answer any question and help in all details, especially the head of reception, I really appreciate her help and persona. The rooms are huge and all you need is there. any you can see the hotel is taking care of the cleaning. The food is very good, the restaurant provides very delicious meals.
First of all, I enjoyed observing the design of a hotel both outside and inside. Its location right in the down town close to the river bank. Thus, you can see picturecque views. Moreover, the staff was polite and friendly. Thanks for everything and for the warm floor in the bathroom in particular !
Absolutely perfect appartment close to the supermarket and near the bus and tram stop. To the center of Rostov it is around 30 minutes. The lendlords were super nice, communication in english was quite good! The bed was comfy, appartment looks like in the pictures, room service was once per week.
Attache Hotel is a very very cozy hotel in the best part of the city. The staff was very nice and profesionnal The breakfast outside on the terrrace facing the sun was so cool... and bar staff so nice too... even with foreign people..:)
This is much more than a hotel, it's a whole complex of trails, cabins and hosting facilities. It's close to major shopping and fairly easy to get to.
Well, don't expect to live in a paradise. The best thing about this hotel is its location: Close to the river and a beautiful church + the city market.
The hotel was nice, clean and well maintained, staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is good too
