Hotel in Petrogradskiy, Saint Petersburg
Vedensky Hotel is an impressive historical 9-floor building on Petrogradsky Island. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and spoke English very well. All the prices in the hotel were "reasonable" this includes room service, on-site restaurants and even mini bar. During Covid times there's a requirement to call the day before and 'reserve' within 30 mins time slots which time you want to have breakfast, though I suspect this wasn't very strictly enforced (which is good). Breakfast was good, though a bit repetitive after 4 days, it is a buffet style, good quality, but always the same. The lack of scrambled eggs and/or bacon surprised me! But it can't be described as a minus.

A magical city that looks like a fairy tale. Aside from the many many cultural gifts that it has it is also very hip with art and singers on every corner and the food is excellent. What is not to like? The food carts were so handy and fun and walking around gives you a great perspective of the city's beauty and vastness. I LOVED the Lobby bar at the Grand Europe Hotel and the Sky Bar at the W hotel. Great places to unwind after a tiring day of sightseeing. What can I say about The Hermitage? Almost too much. I spent 3 solid days there and I barely scratched the surface but it should be seen once in once lifetime. An extraordinary Museum.
Now toursits are very little and it is the best tiing to enjoy wonderful pictures at Ermitage Museum and Russian Museum under the calm circumstance. (you can visit there with PCR negative certificate (48hours effective).
SPB has the largest consistent 1750 to 1900 style "old city" in Europe It must not be ruined due lack of priority or refusal to request funding from Europe. The "old city as a whole" is the favorite, no particular spot.
The main thing that has got me in love with the city was that it had been able to save its old face - the old buildings and historical sights. Moreover, the people here are friendly as well. Even though one thing that had got my attention was that there are too many expats in here.
This City i best for Summers i think ; There is less option to explore the city in winters Specially the Boats in the canal is closed due to ice the day is short sun rises at 9:30 and sets at 4 Pm Another disappointment was as a foreigner you will not get an entry to Museum and churches as they need you to be vaccinated by Pfizer and have a Russian QR code State Heritage museum requires RT-PCT test report within 24hrs to buy a ticket and enter the museum We were disappointed 😥 by these requirements
In this new reality western visitors like me can’t get in the museums because they don’t accept others vaccines but Sputnik, even with PCR negative they can’t let you get in. Very desappointed in that specific issue. Other than that, was one of the most gratifying and unforgettable experience I had, beautiful city, you can walk, take bus or train, subway, eat every place. Another thing to keep in mind, I couldn’t use Uber app, instead used Yandex app, my credit cards didn’t work, but you can pay cash to drivers, the app give you the option after you see the fare or price of that trip. There’s western unions, money gram , banks give you the option to the local currency, I used dollars to rublos, need also translators apps, I used yandex translate, also need google maps to move through the city, it helps you to take buses metro, it works perfectly, people don’t speak English, need translator. Also you can buy a phone for 100$ or less and put a SIM card and pay 10$ for 15 days unlimited internet and a few minutes locals call and some text mjs, I used for internet in order to move used google maps .
I highly recommend the Underwood Art Room Hotel without any hesitation! Its convenient location on Rubinstein Street, the three courteous and attentive receptionists, the comfortable and well-appointed room with all its accessories and amenities were more than we hoped for during our visit to St Petersburg. We enjoyed the coffee service, fresh fruit, and flower arrangement, and appreciated the in-house laundry service. This place and it's staff meet your every need and will exceed your expectations.
Everything we liked about this hotel, as usual. And as usual, our stay in Corinthia SPB was just great! Used to stay there each our St. Petersburg visit, nevertheless, we would like especially to highlight exceptional staff work and professional passion aimed to our joy and comfort. Great job! What we worth most this stay during -20 °C outside: - large baththub - bank office and ATM available in the same building - late checkout was kindly provided for us See you on May '21!
The location is excellent, literally cannot be closer to the historical center and main attractions, yet it is quiet in the rooms and no city noise will bother you. The breakfast is great, the staff are friendly and very helpful, the restaurant at the 1st floor is a great place to have dinner and lunch, too. Rooms are clean and tidy, Great value for money. We truly enjoyed our stay at this Hotel and will be glad to stay here again during our next visit to St. Petersburg.
Vertical Hotel is located at Frunzenskaya metro station. By using metro station, we were able to go wherever we want easily. Our accommodation was really amazing in Petersburg. Vertical and its employees were so kind and helpful. When we do our check in, the weather was amazingly hot, so we asked a ventilator from the reception. When we come back our room at night, we saw a ventilator near the bed. Perfect Hotel, perfect location.
It was a nice hotel, good value for money. What I liked is that it wasn't neutral. In my 8 days stay in rather short interactions with personnel I saw beauty in people, their inner characters, their perception of Russian past and present. Maybe I was there to look, but I like the aftertaste of this hotel experience. There is smth of Dostoyevskiy in it. I recommend to try it if you search for your deepest feelings by any means.
The staff were super friendly and ready to help although the hotel was fully booked and they surely had a lot of work to do. The room was clean, and we loved the view to the authentic Petersburg patio (there are very convenient windowsills where you can seat and observe what's happening – kids loved it). Location is perfect, 2 min from the metro station. Didn't try the breakfast though, there are lots of cafés nearby.
Fresh new hotel and everything was to a very high standard. Good selection of food at breakfast, private parking, friendly staff, nice airy rooms with great bathroom and free toiletries. Hard to fault and at the price we stayed of 7.500₽ per room, definitely excellent value especially as the rest hotels of St Petersburg went price crazy with Russian match in the Euro 2020 football championship.
In one word - everything! Hotel is super cozy, welcoming and modern, right at the heart of Saint Petersburg. Being walking literally to everywhere without a glitch. One particular mention for the staff - professional, warm, competent, absolutely the best team you could find. And yet another for the breakfast - absolutely delicious! The ⭐️pick for the perfect weekend in Saint Petersburg!
Friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to make our stay easy, as all of our party were non-Russian speakers it was comforting to know the hotel staff could understand our questions and requests. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. Hotel is walking distance to many St P cultural benefits.
Admiralteyskiy, Saint Petersburg
Greatest location and city vibes! Couldn’t be more central! The hostel itself cozy and nice, bedspaces covered with curtains which is must in hostels. Victoria was very helpful, friendly and warm-welcoming, customers oriented, which is rare in Russia. Thanks and all the best!
The hotel is new, clean and excellent value. It’s walking distance from restaurants, supermarkets and a large metro junction. The breakfast was very good and the room had a kettle and mini fridge.... I stayed in 3 hotels in Russia and this was the favorite.
Russian pancake was delicious, crisp and tender inside. The lady who cooked can manage the time well. The location was walkable form the station from Moscow. Nice coffee shop nearby (Bol'she Kofe) just walked out the hotel and turn left for a while.
Location is the best in the city. We booked cathedral view room and it was worth every penny. The interior of the hotel reminds Russian theatre. We enjoyed restaurant and the pool and the spa. Overall experience was one of the best.
Location - good, in the center. Comfortable bed. The hotel is 2 stars - so do not expect much. Friendly and helpful personnel (which is not typical of Russian hotels, unfortunately).
Hotel is located 15 minutes waking distance from the train station. Ideal in order to prevent the notorious traffic jams in the city center of St. Petersburg. .
Tsentralny, Saint Petersburg
Greet staff , very friendly the night reception can’t speak English but she is very nice lady.. the hotel has good idea about russian history.
Admiralteyskiy, Saint Petersburg
