Leider war unser Aufenthalt zu kurz. Doch ein Spaziergang an der Promenade neben der Wolga mit zahlreichen Restaurant und Freizeit Angebot bzw am Sandstrand relaxen oder eine der Museen, Unis und die Stadt selber zu erkunden ist eine Reise wert. Da Samara weitläufig ist empfiehlt es sich generell ein Taxi zu nehmen (im Schnitt 150-350 RUB / ~2-5€ pro Fahrt). Flughafen KUF > Samara Stadt ~ 800 RUB / ca 10€. Fahrt mit Kleinkind ist generell nur mit Kindersitz erlaubt (Strafe für Fahrgast bei Kontrolle ohne Kindersitz ~3000 RUB / 35 € per 9/2018).Es gibt auch Taxis mit Kindersitz (zu bestellen). Englisch spricht aber fast kein Taxler. Aber es geht. Wir kommen wieder...dann etwas länger!

Samara ist eine Stadt, in der die Strände der Wolga immer gut erreichbar sind. Es gibt außerdem viel zu sehen, z. B. das Luft- und Raumfahrtmuseum, den Stalin-Bunker, die Oper und das Theater, viele schöne Parks. Man kann auch eine Fahrt über die Wolga auf eine der vielen Inseln unternehmen, oder eine Rundfahrt mit dem Schiff. Man findet schöne kleine Restaurants und auch Fast-Food-Restaurants. Unbedingt probieren sollte man Kwass, am besten im Hochsommer von einem Straßenstrand. Es gibt kaum eine bessere Erfrischung. Ein Tipp für Fisch- und Bierfreunde: An der Brauerei nahe dem Hafen kann man frisch gezapftes Bier und den leckersten Fisch (geräuchert, getrocknet) kaufen!

Die Lage an der Fluss-/Strandpromenade ist fabelhaft. Die Kommunikation im Vorfeld hat sehr gut geklappt. Der Flughafentransfer wurde ohne Probleme organisiert und man konnte die Rechnung dafür im Hotel bezahlen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstücksbuffet war reichlich und abwechslungsreich (herzhaft, süß, Getränke, Obst usw.).
