The house was very nicely designed and very well maintained. Everything one needs for a stay and more was available. The hosts were very welcoming. The location is very close to the ski-lift. Given another opportunity, we will definitely choose the same Stuga

Small village, very quiet.

Small village, very quiet. Far from the agitation of the city. Best place to embrace the darkness and the wild and watch the northern lights. Only one small supermarket in town, most of the activities are happening outside in the nature so be used to outdoor activities.

I have been here eleven times, which must show that I like it very much. I have been here summer and winter as well. I mostly hike to Lapporten and Trollsjoen. On the other hand, I am not a fan of Kungsleden, which for me is a motorway for pedestrians.

Abisko is a perfect destination for having a good chance of getting to see the Northern Lights. The geographical location and the climatic conditions make it a perfect location for witnessing the magic of the Aurora Borealis. A trip to the Abisko Sky Station is definitely worth a visit. The view from the top is phenomenal! If you happen to be there up north on a near full moon day and you get lucky to see the Northern Lights, you will find it hard not be satisfied with what you experience!

Best place to see the Northern Lights.

Best place to see the Northern Lights. Abisko only has limited accommodations so there's guarantee that the place will never be overcrowded. Transportation is very difficult and you must book everything in advance. Eating options include the restaurants at the hotels, kitchen in hostels. There's 2 places where you can buy your groceries - Godisfabriken and the shop in the Abisko Tourist Station. Other than that, you go to Kiruna or Narvik (which are pretty far)

We traveled to Abisko in the winter and so there wasn't much daylight, but there were quite a number of guided tours available (aurora viewing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, etc.). I'm sure it would be great in the summer months for hiking and other outdoor activities. There was only one restaurant in town but it was very good.

Does not waste the natural environnment, very well integrated into the landscapes. Being the only accomodation inside the national park is a unique advantage, which gives you the possibility to start hiking right away, whatever the time, and without any constraint. Convenient restaurant (with fantastric views) and mini grocery, extremely helpful for hiking. Various types of accomodation options, from camping sites to fancy room. Good and filling breakfast. Cute terrace outside and very nicely furnished facilities inside

We had a fantastic stay at Abisko Mountain Lodge from the moment we checked in. The lodge is cosy and the staff are great. The food was amazing and highly recommend booking the soup buffet for lunch. The lodge is a short walk from the train station which in the cold was very welcome, we especially appreciated the staff alerting us when the aurora was visible.

Perfect location, close to the train station , supermarket and the lake. Also walking distance (nice hike) to Abisko national park and other facilities. We could rent an overall, boots and all accessories for the huge snow outside. We could even see the Aurora Borealis from our living room window
