Beautiful buildings and cobbled streets. Variety of places to eat. If you are a Wallander fan its worth visiting the tourist information building for a map of the filming locations. All within walking distance. Ystad film Studios visitor Centre is also worth a visit, especially for Wallander enthusiasts like me. I love Ystad!!

A lovely town to walk around, many quaint older homes and some very old buildings too. The town feels safe, the locals were friendly and helpful. With a car it was also a good base to explore the surrounding countryside and coast.

We did a Wallander walking tour of Ystad and included in this price was a tour of the Ystad Movie Studios. Our tour guide, Joanna and her 'apprentice' were wonderful and made us feel so welcome to Ystad.
We also loved walking around the beautiful cobbled streets and visiting Sankta Maria Kyrka.

Nice friendly town with good cafés and shopping facilities. Many extremely well kept historical buildings. A very clean town. Don´t forget to visit the megalithic monument Ale´s Stones which is a short car ride from Ystad.

Ystad is a lovely town and the size of the city centre is just right for visitors without a car as everything is within walking distance. Love the small shops and the cobblestone pedestrian areas. There are lots of cafés, galleries and various other cultural sites to visit.

A lovely old town that has plenty of interesting history in the Danish Empire style with later municipal additions. Several museums show the towns past in an entertaining and educational way. Language is not a barrier here and people are welcoming, helpful and most accommodating. A quiet place off season (possibly too quiet for some) it is a great place to relax, wander around and see a special perspective on Sweden if you wish. The weather is key though, sea winds can be cold and so visiting when the season is in full swing (therefore a bit more expensive) is the best option. Transport links are excellent: the train from Copenhagen is an hour, plus buses are easy. Lots to see in the area and the local tourist office are amazing, going above and beyond if not too busy on the day. Good beaches, castles, old churches, tourist shops, tasty seafood - what more could you want!

... The kind owner Johann, have created an absolute unique and outstanding place...the atmosphere beyond words....! It is like stepping into a fairy tale. Charm, personified....!!!! Absolutte delight and heaven for a creative photocrapher.

This is a charming and cozy inn perfectly located in Ystad. We don't have a car and it is very easy to walk or cycle everywhere from this location. The rooms, the breakfast room, and the garden all feel like an old-school (that's a compliment!) hotel that has the personal touch. The owners are welcoming and helpful. Having a small refrigerator in the room is extremely helpful.

Host has a heart of gold (hospitality, helpfulness), We felt welcome from the very beginning of our stay. We were warmly welcomed. We were able to use everything in his apartment (balcony, washing machine, dryer). In addition, he offered us coffee and pastries to say goodbye. The apartment was very clean and centrally located, so you could walk to Ystad in a few minutes.

Of course a very centrally located hotel, close to everything! Nevertheless the room was very quiet and no problem sleeping a good night sleep. The hotel is run by four sisters, who conscientious work to make the place to a high standard hotel with a personal touch 😊 Also a historic place for everyone knowing the police character Kurt Wallander 🎬
