Very pleasant mountain town, we were there in Summer, beautiful surroundings nice vibe and plenty to enjoy. With a car you can access lots of activities in the area and Lake Bled is an hour away. Italy and Austria are also very accessible. I liked the fact that it was very bicycle friendly, lots of cycle hire, trails and tours and dedicated infrastructure for getting around by bicycle, a really good summer cycle holiday hub. In Winter it would be fun for families and those of average ability but maybe a bit limited for advanced mountain sports fans (only an assumption looking at the ski area)

Nice place for sport holidays.
Nice place for sport holidays. Good place for hiking, cycling & via ferrata. There in enought restaurants to spend good evening too. Place closeby Italy, can visit 2 countries which are connected by road / direct cycling part. Recommend.

Our visit to Kranjska Gora was nothing short of enchanting! Nestled in the heart of the Julian Alps, this charming Slovenian town offered a perfect blend of natural beauty and vibrant local culture. The majestic mountains and pristine lakes provided a stunning backdrop for our daily adventures, from scenic hikes and exhilarating bike rides to leisurely strolls through the picturesque town center.

Picturesque mountainous resort which is also accessible to main sites in Slovenia by car. There are many hiking options in the area too. On the last day we went to Jasna, a near by lake and had a picnic there. It was 30 min walking through the forest and a river. We visited in June on a bike tour and then passed back...
We visited in June on a bike tour and then passed back through Kranjska Gora on our way back to Ljubljana. It is a good (possibly the only local) base for mountain activities in the area, having shops, accommodation and restaurants. Despite this, and being a ski resort, it is not over-developed, much smaller than its Austrian/French counterparts, and the building is pleasantly traditional. In addition it has the lovely Lake Jasna just up the road and access to the awesome Vrsic Pass.EGUnited Kingdom
