There are many options for small and medium-sized hikes in Kranjska Gora. Everywhere we met friendly people and the overall feeling of the city was good. In OUR experience, we found the Slovenian people not very friendly... There were definitely exceptions, in both ways, but we are used to saying "hi" to other passing hikers. And you could see by their reaction if they were also foreign or Slovenian: Slovanians either looked mad at us for talking to them, or straight ignored us. Might be the culture, might just be our unlucky experience... Big difference to the Austrians over the border just 20 mins away. Also, except in the real touristy places: No English whatsoever... In supermarkets, on the streets, ... I know that's an "us" problem, but doesn't make it very 'first-timers' friendly 😉 Finally, the real reason we went to Slovenia: What a BEAUTIFUL country!!! It is a lively place with lots of available activities for all age groups. There are several good places to eat or just have a drink. We liked cafe Kosobrin. Pub Jopa has a good vibe. The best meal we had was in Jožica, a few kilometers from Kranjska Gora, in Gozd Martuljek. As I could not walk much because my foot hurt, we took the car to a beautiful spot below mountain Triglav. You can admire the view and spend some time there at the mountain hut. We also took a cable car from Tarvisio to Monte Lussari. A lovely experience, too.Guest review bybojanatrpCroatia - 10.0

Little gem in the Alps, great place for skiing, hiking and cycling. You can find Italian pizzerias and Balkan style barbecue restaurants. The city is very safe, and prices are lower compared to Italy or Austria. The Cycling route from Jesenice to Tarvisio is fantastic with nice little places to stop everywhere. You can rent bikes and e-bikes with all equipment including child seats. The tobogan (bob) ride is also very nice for children.Guest review byszetomiHungary - 10.0
The town has everything you need for a week's holiday.
The town has everything you need for a week's holiday. We came in the summer, loads to do, food is fabulous with a wide choice of restaurants. The bakery and local supermarket are great too. You must try Bedanc for pizza and the Slovenia evening on a Friday night at the BBQ place with the rotating pig. Also, in the Ramada next door, you can go swimming at any time, even if you aren't a guest at the hotel. The ski lift up to the toboggan is great fun. We can with our 3 year old and she had the best week. A must visit is Jasna lake, just wow! And close by, you can walk there from the town in 20 mins and spend the day there.
