Encijan Apartments are set in the charming Alpine village of Log pod Mangartom, 5 mi from Bovec. It is surrounded by some of the highest peaks in the Julian Alps. Breakfast was exceptional. We were there pre-season and the owner went out of his way to compensate, making sure we had meals and the transportation we needed. And the backdrop for it all is spectacular.
Located in Log pod Mangartom, 12 mi from Tarvisio, Hiša Urška features barbecue facilities and free WiFi. Our hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and gave a lot of useful advice on what to see and where to go in the area. The apartment ("Bike" on the ground floor) was very clean with a well-equipped kitchen and amazing mountain views from the bedroom. Many hikes can be done starting right from the village - it is a great place to explore Triglav.
Featuring accommodations with a patio, House Parabola is set in Log pod Mangartom. Really nice place between the mountains. The house was extremely confortable for a bigger group. There was a nice restaurant called Brunarica nearby. Definitely recommend to go.
Set in Log pod Mangartom, 26 mi from Weissensee, Gorska Roža offers a restaurant and free WiFi. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and a hairdryer. Gorska Roža is probably the most beautiful stay we have had in a long time. While the buildings and rooms are perfection in their own right - a carefully and tastefully renovated farm house and pavillon located in a picturesque valley, which is a great starting point for hiking and other outdoorsy activities - Gorska Roža is also about the hosts: Young couple Katja and Matija take care of their guests from beginning to end, preparing delicious breakfasts (think milk and butter from a regional cooperative, honey from next door and homemade apple juice), sharing their knowledge and recommendations of the region and fullfulling any other wishes their guests might have - passionately, yet effortlessly and with an honesty that is truely rare. We miss Gorska Roža already.
Our cozy apartment looking onto stunning mountain peaks was the perfect choice for a cozy getaway in Triglav National Park! The staff was very hospitable and everything was very homey and clean. Breakfast was fantastic too!
The hotel is located on the mountains with ample parking spaces. It offers clean rooms with generous space. Breakfast is nice and the restaurant is also a good choice for those wishing to dine at the property. The rooms are spread over 3 floors and being an old building does not offer a lift. We used the hotel to roam around Bovec can also be used as a base to explore the area. This is a hotel that can be enjoyed all year round!!!
Log Pod Mangartom is last village before Italian border not counting a tiny hamlet up the steep hill. Food wise there is a restaurant in the Alpine Hotel but it gets Full at evening dinner time. Very good food what we had but they had run out of most things due to a non delivery of supplies. There is a quaint bar next door for beer and coffee but no food and no beds, there is also a restaurant on left as you drive up into L P M. Unbelievable views of the surrounding or should I say overhanging mountains. Butiful walks in area. If you are into rock climbing there is a purpose built hook up line to cross on the down river side of the road bridge near Alpine Hotel and a zip line going under said bridge. Make sure you drive up the highest road in Slovenia Route 902 to the foot of Mangart Mt; turn right shortly before Italian border. There is a €5 charge per car after about 2 kms of 11kms route, it is tarmac all the way to top but is subject to landslides as we encountered. Drive to very top. Breathtaking views. Plenty of walks. Just below top of road is a cafe selling hot drinks, food alcohol, etc. Be warned the road up to restaurant is ultra steep and blind single lane, off load passengers first if you have an old car or just leave car at bottom, no more than 400 metres and it will save your clutch. We waited a day to ensure clear sky's no point driving up if wet or low cloud.
It is a very remote place so only suitable for those looking for a very peaceful location. The surronding was absolutely breathtaking. My son's favourite place was the small river, it is 5 min from the hotel.
It is a really small village in the middle of the mountains. Besides the hotel there is one more restaurant, a church, and that is all. For shopping, you need to drive to Bovec. It is an ideal place to start a hiking or cycling trip in the mountains.
Breakfast was exceptional. We were there pre-season and the owner went out of his way to compensate, making sure we had meals and the transportation we needed. And the backdrop for it all is spectacular.
Staff especially Sara and her Italian friend at the kitchen ☺
