We liked the location as it was a short walk to Salinera Beach and swimming in the Adriatic Sea, short stroll to Strunjan waterfront eateries including the Pinija Restaurant & Beach bar (fine dining and drink selection while watching the sunset), and only a short drive to the hustle and bustle of beautiful Piran.

The nice saltpans with a small museum in the middle, both sides of the bay, have hotels for budget guests or one that required a little higher standards. There are many marked paths to hike around or just plain walk. Strunjan bay is not a village but it lies between Izola and Piran. At the beginning of the bay, there is a bus station and mini market and at the end, there are many restaurants and a beach with some trees and grass to give shadow and a place to rest.
