Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering 2 countries – Austria and Hungary, all watered by the beautiful River Danube. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with an UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself contains a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.
Opposite is St Martin’s Cathedral, coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s speciality is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.
The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-coloured buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.
Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.
Bratislava is not for a long stay, but great for a weekend.
Bratislava is not for a long stay, but great for a weekend. The old town is small, but great and the castle is worth a visit. Bonus are the cheap prices for great beer and food (not really veggie/ vegan, though).

For no apparent reason whatsoever if you want to waste about 3-4 hours of your life then you should definitely go to Bratislava to get bored as it gives you plenty of reason not to like the city. We found it very hard to understand how a capital city of a country in Europe can be full of unfriendly and full of prejudice people.
So if you want to feel uncomfortable and bored to tears then Bratislava is the city to go to!

Bratislava is a gem.
Bratislava is a gem. It needs little more research to understand all those amazing places -> UFO restaurant is a must for example. Bratislava castle, National Parliament, Donau river, Slavin view, Kamzik watch tower, Blue Castle, Pubs. A hidden gem of national capitals in Europe for respectful prices and with security not seen in Vienna.

Lots to see and do.
Lots to see and do. Many picturesque churches, a compact old town which is very easy to walk around. Many ancient buildings and museums. The castle is well worth a visit. Loads of easily accessible bars, cafes and restaurants. A few are a bit pricey, but the majority are quite reasonable. There is even an Irish bar (The Dubliner), just off the main square. Public transport is excellent. Never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for a tram or bus.
4 days is ample time to see everything at your leisure.

The City of Bratislava is a great city to get around, it can be walked easily and all the visitor attractions are accessible.
The city is quiet and the access to train and boat makes an easy day out to Vienna .
Plenty of activities as there are boat trips on the Danube as well as attractions like various castles and sites.
I would recommend a trip to Bratislava for a short break or weekend.

Breakfast was ok and one could ask for a better quality coffee from the bar during the same.
The room was clean. (Electricity in the room is on when the door card is inserted into a special holder at the entrance. If one dislikes the ventilation system noise, it is possible to remove the card so that the noise stops and to open the window in the room for fresh air)
Location is ok too - the old town and Bratislava Castle are reachable by walk, there is a nice green park some 7 min by walk from the hotel.
Friendly staff, and a great view from my hotel room (River view), which overlooks the Dunaj, and the Bratislava UFO bridge. The location is very convenient with the castle being just a 15 minute walk away, and a tram stop on the main road outside the hotel. The hotel is on the edge of the old town, meaning that restaurants and bars are very close by.
The location is perfect - in the city centre, near old town. The communication with the host was very easy, the self check in and out were fast and comfortable.
There are shops nearby, a small bakery across the street, amazing restaurants and food in the streets nearby.
Classic and elegant hotel with traditional charm. Not outdated but renovated with style. A great location on a quiet street close to the old town and city centre. Staff was absolutely lovely and helpful. All in all, a great hotel!
Location fantastic, right in the heart of Old Town. So quiet, comfy, definitely a gem in Bratislava. Breakfast plentiful continental style. I'm a female travelling alone and it was safe and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.
