Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering 2 countries – Austria and Hungary, all watered by the beautiful River Danube. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with an UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself contains a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.
Opposite is St Martin’s Cathedral, coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s speciality is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.
The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-coloured buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.
Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.

The historical part of Bratislava is self contained within a small part of the city and is the place to go for both for staying and sightseeing. The medieval building are beautiful and there is a lot of decently priced places to eat and drink. A visit to the castle high on the hill behind the old town is also a must. The rest of the city didn’t look as interesting and didn’t seem to be particularly catering for tourists. We came to the city by train and found it only a shortish walk to get from the train station to the old town. I would say it is a great place for a week end city break.

Bratislava is a small but nice European city.
Bratislava is a small but nice European city. There is no many people but still have fun. There are plenty of places to visit. The historical part is small if you compare with Budapest and Vienna but it is still nice. If you like to walk, it offers very nice routes to discover. The city is not expensive as i thought but it depends what you look for.
If you visit this city in summer do not forget your hat and sun creams.
The staff were very professional and informative. The room was clean and spacious. For business travelers the internet was fantastic. I liked that my room was an apartment with a kitchen, dining area, living room, and bedroom. The breakfast was also great with a lot of options. A small note but the breakfast staff in particular were very helpful. They gave me trays to take up a plate and some coffee. The hotel is a short walk from the main square and all the sights within Bratislava’s Old Town.
The location was convenient despite not being in the old town of Bratislava, having bus stops opposite the hotel which we made use of. Overall, the hotel had an antique/vintage vibe and decor which added to our experience, yet the rooms were modern and comfortable. The breakfast was good as well, though I would have preferred other more well-known products to be available for selection (such as nutella over the unpleasant chocolate sauce).
Nice, clean, comfortable place exactly at the part of Bratislava that we needed. Easy collection of keys, very precise instructions about everything. What I appreciate very much is that the parking was free (included in the very reasonable price) which is very uncommon in BA even for 5 star hotels.
The great advantage of Crowne Plaza Bratislava is its location - across the street from the President's Palace on the edge of the Old Town.
The hotel has its own underground parking albeit charging steep rates.
