There are so many places to visit; the islands, the monument, the beaches, the fast foods, etc. As a solo traveler, I was scared at first of the risk I took to visit these places alone, but I quickly realized how friendly the people of Dakar are. Beautiful city, lots of new development. Very expensive for entertainment, eating and drinking out. People are friendly, warm and welcoming. I visited Goree Island, great experience. A nice natural city, and very warm people but ready to over charge the tourist. Being Nigerian, I was ready for the haggle :) I found it quite easy to move around. Visiting Goree Island is a must but the ferry managers need to improve their ticketing processes and leverage on technology. I paid. My family agreed I could stay in private room until 14th March. Many men in dormitory, I do not sleep there . I slept at my work. We thought we could pay tonight for the period until 14 March.
