The breakfast was absolutely excellent. Fresh made omelet, orange juice, fresh crusty baguette; other breads, danish, cheese, carafe of hot coffee, etc. The whole experience was very different and so much better than what I am used to. I am used to staying in 4 and 5 star hotels but this villa experience is more like a luxury bed & breakfast. The food is absolutely gourmet and excellent. The decor in the whole villa and the room is combination of African and French tastes. Whomever did the exterior and interior design has great taste and vision. The location of the villa is quite far from Dakar and in a rather remote area which is a pleasant departure from a city atmosphere. Very tranquil and I slept so well in a very comfortable bed. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The villa also provided transportation to and from the airport at a very reasonable price. The driver, Michel, is a very good driver, efficient and prompt. I cannot say enough good things about Villa Chanalu.

small and intimate property in a safe, quiet area near Saly and a short walk to the beach. Rooms are beautifully decorated with local fabrics. spacious room with separate living area and great storage for all my luggage, clothing and purchases. separate toilet. shower was hot with great water pressure. the outdoor sitting areas were comfortable and provided enough privacy when needed. open air dining was a delight both day and night. pool was refreshing and clean. the tropical landscaping was absolutely stunning! But the BEST part of my stay: the incomparable hospitality of my hosts, Jean-Pierre and Veronique. I have never felt so well taken care of and in such capable hands anywhere else in the world that I've traveled to. JP and Vero are more than great hosts, they are great people to know and learn from. Genuine, warm, and full of insider knowledge about the area, the language, the culture and the local activities and attractions. JP and Vero helped me find everything I needed in / around Ngaparou from food to excursions to shopping. They helped me avoid tourist traps and even negotiated fair prices for tours, drivers, purchases and more. JP is a great guide and driver as well! I felt so safe on the often treacherous roads with him behind the wheel. Vero and I share a love of books and wax fabrics - I even got to visit a local nursery she volunteers at... a heart-filling experience that I will never forget! I felt so lucky to spend my birthday with these 2 wonderful people. I now think of them more as friends than as hosts. Much love and many thanks to them both!

Its a tranquil and beautiful paradise for a perfect weekend getaway. Once you enter the premises, you forget where you are. The pool is pristine, music plays in the background, the greenery is lush and the rooms are super comfortable. The hosts are extremely personable and you feel like their pampered guest! The breakfast is delicious and plentiful and evening meal was cooked perfectly. The massage services are also available and highly recommend

Big size rooms and big size pool. Exactly like the pictures. The cleanliness is exceptional. Good breakfast service. If you ask for ice, they will get ice for you. We got a nice bottle of wine as a welcome gift for celebrating a birthday there. Shared kitchen has coffee machine, microwave, stove, and oven. Basically, everything you need but elevated. It's such a great place to stay. Will visit again next time.
