We hesitated between Sali and La Somone.

We hesitated between Sali and La Somone. La Somone has significant advantages, including tranquility, proximity to shops, the beach, and the authenticity of its surroundings. The lagoon's proximity is undeniable, allowing for walks, jogging, quad biking, and much more. The restaurant "Chez Ati" is exceptional in its welcome and quality of service.

A very pleasant, moderately touristy place that lives at a Senegalese pace. The beach and lagoon are beautiful. Plenty of activities to do in the area (water sports, bike rentals, Bandia Reserve).

Someone is a growing tourist destination.

Someone is a growing tourist destination. Visitor numbers have increased significantly, and so have prices. The town is still relatively quiet – unlike the mass tourism in Saly, where I wouldn't vacation anymore. The roads are still in very poor condition, with no asphalt and many potholes.

I assume they were not prepared for my arrival as there was no toilet paper or towels in the room. It was obvious that it had not been cleaned for a long time as there were a lot of dead ants in the bathroom. Everything in the room was very old. This room was not in the photos provided on the bookings. Plus, to leave the hotel, there is no option to order a taxi through the app or catch a car on the street, it is very inconvenient. But the landlady was very kind and helped to leave for the airport, thank you very much for that.

Everything was neat. The welcoming and communication was perfect. Internet speed is excellent. The house is perfect for one or two persons. The area is quiet and very safe and exceeded my expectation ( coming from a hustle and bustle European city like London is). A note on Somone lagoon area: beware of thieves at Rasta bar ( my friend was stolen of his mobile phone ) . Of course this has nothing to deal with Maison Aziz which is a great place to stay.

Small family owned hotel. Super friendly staff. Nice to relax at the pool when we came back from the beach. Room was spacious with a nice warm shower. (If you want that). Comfy beds. Close to the beach. Little bit outside the centre of the town but in a 10 minutes walk, you are there. Lots of taxi's driving around as well to bring you to the lagoon.
