We stayed a short shuttle ride from the beach where it was quiet and really lovely. I imagine in the high season it would be very busy at Ao Nang. We caught a long tail to Railay beach which was really beautiful and the boat ride was also fun. Over tourism at its finest. The strip of shops is packed no matter the time of day or night with bars, restaurants, tailors, weed shops and souvenirs. A great fire show happens each night at one of the resorts at the far end. It's perfect for people who are happy laying on a towel on the sand all day then partying all night. Ao Nang is a great spot to explore nearby islands. It has good shopping, restaurants and a fun vibe. It is easy to hire a driver and go exploring. Definitely need to go on a boat trip, the snorkeling was great!

Perfect if you want to stay close to the things but with more calm. Sarah was really kind to us, helping with everything and always with a smile.
