The location was great, the staff really friendly. We organized a diving trip and the instructor George was really good at his job and a cool guy. We had an unforgettable experience. The boat trip departs straight from the beach in front of the hotel.

Koh Tao is still one of the few raw escapes in Thailand in my opinion, its divers and back packers heaven. However as a father with 2 kids in my forties i absolutely loved it. If you step away from the busy areas and off the beaten track you can find amazing coves and hiden gems still. The tourism all over the world has killed so much of our wildlife and reefs. The locals are definitely trying to do all they can to save it. Brilliant food, amazing views and a fun island.

    We loved Koh Tao.

We loved Koh Tao. Sairee beach is a great area but you can stay anywhere and still have access as it's such a small island. We took a boat trip out to the island for snorkelling which was fab. Don't book in advance. Go onto the beach and haggle with the locals to take you over as it works out so much cheaper especially if you are a family. Highly recommend breakfast at Mango Garden...go hungry!! All In all a beautiful island and great for families as not too crazy busy!

    I enjoyed Koh Tao.

I enjoyed Koh Tao. It is bigger with many more shops and restaurants than I expected. It is clean. The swimming and snorkeling were fabulous. Exploring the cafes and restaurants up high in the mountains is well worth while. People are kind and friendly.

Koh Tao is easy to get around with if you can ride a scooter. Most of the restaurant can make a delicious food and fresh. It would be a paradise for divers, plenty dive sites around and easy to get there with a cheap price. If you not diving, then hiking is a good choice as well. Koh Tao have multiples beautiful route to hike, and it is amazing!

    Loved koh Tao.

Loved koh Tao. Very small island with lots of nice locals and plenty of tourists who are mostly there as backpackers or scuba diving training. I was neither of these and was simple there for a vacation. Had a great time here! Best food options. Didn’t have anything bad! Only thing I would say it’s very hilly and I can’t say it’s wheelchair friendly at all

First visit to any of Thailand's Islands and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Quite the journey day flying from Bangkok's DMK to Suratthani City, transfer to the Sura Tthani Lomprayah High Speed Catamaran service, bus ride to the ferry and ferry ride with stops at two other islands on the way to Ko Tao. Your mileage may vary. A knowledgeable traveler may be able to find a more efficient way to get to Ko Tao. The cost of living may be higher on the islands, but it's still very affordable for most visiting tourists. We enjoyed exploring restaurants and found some nice places to eat. Also did some dives with Crystal Diving, near the Mai Head Pier - nice folks. We ended up on the 'speed boat' back to Surat Thani - not for the feint of heart. <grin> Large speed boat, something like 50 Pax, sitting on bench seats with backs, wearing life preservers and bouncing all the way back. Got us back to Surat Thani in good time. If you're prone to motion sickness take Bonine/Dramamine/meclazine BEFORE the trip leaves - you're going to want it.

We loved everything about Tanote Villa. It was 5* hotel, we had a beautiful deluxe room with a pool access which was amazing. The room itself was huge, perfectly equipped, very relaxed. The hotel itself was beautiful, very well decorated. We loved the restaurant and the breakfast? Wow!!! One of the best we ever had with a breathtaking views. They offered gyoza and dim sum, egg as you wish, variety of Thai food and drinks. The location was excelent, just 5 mins walk to the beach with one of the best snorkeling spots in Thailand. 100%!!!

The friendly bar and restaurant on the beach was lovely..great staff, good food, not expensive, and a laid back attitude. The hotel is at the quieter end of the beach. Our room was huge- just like the photos. Sairee beach is young and lively with plenty of choice for bars and restaurants, nightspots etc. Koh Tao is still relatively unspoiled...highly recommend the island and this hotel and a snorkelling trip.

Such a lovely hotel in Koh Tao! Really nice staff and clean facilities. One of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in since being in Thailand. Complimentary breakfast in the morning is a massive plus as well. Short walk to beautiful Sairee beach, lots of nice restaurants and cafes nearby. Saw some complaints about noise in previous reviews but we found it so peaceful.

Best hotel during our Thailand holiday. Friendly and helpful staff. Large and clean room. Excellent location 5 mins drive or 20 mins walk from the pier. They also refer to a very professional taxi driver Mr Koh who provides fair rates and is very responsive. The cafe offers tasty breakfast options and the best coffee on the island. Staff always has a smile.
