Ko Mook (Near Koh Kradan)
Situated in Ko Mook and nestled in nature, Mookies bungalow offers cosy tents and bungalows. The property is just a 5-minute walk from the beach. When we initially booked a week at Mookies Bungalows we had no idea we would end up staying almost a month due to the Thai Government Coronavirus Shutdown. We could not have ended up in a better place. The first days we were still in vacation mode and Mookies Bungalows provided exactly what we had hoped Thai islands would be like. The setting is gorgeous set on a beautiful hillside with the nicest owners and staff and only a five minute walk to one of Thailand’s most beautiful beaches where we spent every afternoon. Mookies has a wonderful restaurant as well with amazing Curries and many other incredible dishes. The giant prawns were magnificent. The second part of our stay began after the Bungalows officially closed for the season and several of us refugees had nowhere to go. The owners Wan and Nick assured us that we could stay on until we could return to our homes. The kindness and hospitality they showed us was over the top. They even kept the kitchen open so that we were able to continue enjoying the delicious meals Mookies Bungalows are known for. We could not have ended up in a better place than Mookies Bungalows for our Coronavirus shutdown. We will always remember the kindness that Wan and Nick showed us. We look forward to returning when this virus is gone for a Mookies Bungalows reunion.

Very clean and in a great location. The staff were great and really friendly. Having looked around the island at other resorts, this was definitely the best value for money. Lovely private plunge pool to cool off after a day at the beach.
This island Is perfect for someone who is looking to get away from the crowds and enjoy nature. You can spend the entire day hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, and have a very nice meal at night at one of the resorts or smaller locations. The sunset is amazing. The snorkeling is spectacular and right out your door. I would highly recommend visiting Stay at Ao Nieng at the southern end of the island if you really want to experience nature and a family atmosphere- clean and the best snorkeling is right in front of your bungalow. You can take a day trip to other islands if you like and it’s a perfect place for solo travelers. Paradise Lost has true Italian food and the massages at the Reef Resort are the best—- right on the beach!
Luxury prices for a run down cottage. A/C was loud and inefficient. No Wifi signal in room. Shower head clogged and only dribbled. Closet smells like mold so bad it was unusable. interior lights were harsh and flickered. Safe was not attached, therefore not secure. Kettle was rusty. You can not open the windows so there is no air flow, even though there is a lovely ocean breeze every night. Mosquito net is too small for a large bed. Owner had no interest or concern in listening to my feedback or hearing about my disappointment of our accommodations. This place is a total rip off!
Beautiful quiet island. Quite often had the beach to ourselves. Excellent snorkelling and some amazing food too. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for something quiet and a bit more off the beaten track.
I’ve seen a lot of reefs before. This island must’ve had its glory. What’s left of the corals that once was on the shallow beaches must’ve met some climatic and change in water temperature. So now only the deeper waters are still colorful leaving the shallows to dead corals.
It is a beautiful beach and the water was clear tho a triffle warm. The snorkelling was good and we tried both recommended areas. There were few places to eat and in general food and drink are very expensive. With no other activities, think 3-4 days would be ideal amount of time to stay.
Small Island with no roads & limited access to Electricity throughout the day. Served only by small ferry's or longtail boats.Beautiful uncrowded beaches, stunningly clear water, fabulous snorkelling.
