Baan Suan Coconut Ko Yao Noi is set in Ko Yao Noi and features a garden. The hotel also offers free WiFi and free private parking. At the hotel, all rooms are equipped with a desk. We booked two nights at Baan Suan Coconut but ended up staying four. The place itself is located in the east of the Island quite near Tha Khao Pier. It takes 15mins by scooter to the only 7-11 on the island but therefore the beach is within walking distance. We were welcomed by a coconut fresh from the garden. The owner is such lovely person always making sure we were alright. Organising scooters and told us we’re to swim or go kayaking. He would be the last one going to sleep and the first one getting up in the morning. There’s always a chance to make yourself tea and coffee and there’d be a little breakfast in the morning (sticky rice with jackfruit - yam). The bungalows themselves provide everything you need - big bed, mosquito net, ventilator. The bathroom has an open rooftop and thanks to the palm trees it felt like showering in the nature. We very much enjoyed sitting on the terrace with a cold Singha in the evening. Thanks for the wonderful time. “You happy - I’m happy”

Three Monkeys Bungalows features a restaurant, bar, a shared lounge and garden in Ko Yao Noi. With free WiFi, this 2-star hotel offers room service and a concierge service. We loved the quiet, peaceful mornings and evenings, the remarkable view over the sea, the spaciousness and comfort of the bungalow—great bed, handy kettle and fridge, working ac in two main rooms—and we made good use of porch and balcony. We also loved the space between bungalows (on popular beaches, bungalows are crowded together). Apart from all this, we really appreciated the care of our host, who organized an incredible island tour for us, brought us capuccinos a few mornings, and found us a driver when we decided not to rent a scooter(the island does not lend itself to long walks or bike rides). Our driver, Nui, took us for the best Thai food on the island (also the cheapest), made herself available everyday, and over eight days, ensured we had a magnificent holiday. (Btw, after much research on current wages in Thailand, we felt the fair price for an excellent, on-demand driver is 200 bhat an hour: don’t cheap out on this, people!)

The island is a great place to chill out for a few days. There is not much traffic of any description, so walking on the roads is quite pleasurable. We could have hired motorbikes or bicycles from our accommodation to get around easily, but we didn't bother, preferring to walk - and if you get too hot, the sea is never far away! Our stay was short so we didn't eat in many places, but what we had was very tasty and reasonably priced if more expensive than the mainland. The local people were very friendly and we felt very welcome and at ease.
Ko Yao Noi is a lovely island to experience life on a small Thai island not over-run by tourists. Get on a scooter and drive all over the island - many roads are not paved which makes it quite an adventure. Don't expect turquoise clean seawater or nice white beaches.... you come here for the island life, the jungle, the very wide low-tides, and not the water and beaches.
The Island is stunning but it is an island where you mainly stay at your resort. We did catch a bus into the main town but there was little in there apart from a few cafes, souvenirs shops and the all important 7/11. The road leaving the hotel into town is a very rutted track and at times if it has been raining then the hotel will organise a speedboat trip to the next pier and then be collected by 4wheel drive to take you into town. That was an enjoyable way to get to town.
Paradise Koh Yao Noi was the perfect escape holiday to get away from the busy world and sit by the beach in the sun for a week whilst sipping cocktails. Great facilities, superb location, friendly and attentive staff - would definitely recommend!
Perfect island for a relaxing and switching off from it all. Not much to do other than sit on a beach, sip from coconuts and make friends with the locals, but that is what we were after! Felt like a lovely Thai experience with the island still largely being a farming (rice or rubber) community. However it is touristy enough that people speak enough English to get by, there are some excellent restaurants and some day trips to organise. We did a private boat trip around the local islands and LOVED it, but otherwise just explored the island and chilled on the beach!
Place is quite preserved so not a lot of noisy places and croudy ones. Most of people we met were Muslim and very friendly. Main transport is scooter so it can bother at night depending upon where we sleep however it also means tha tthere is not a lot of cars driving
Ko Yao Noi
The villa was spacious and had a lovely upstairs balcony as well as a sitting area and dining area downstairs. We stayed in the villa which only had fans, no A.C. but it did not bother us at all. There was a lovely pool and the beach was beautiful with no-one else on it. The villas are not on the main drag and so we hired scooters one day to explore, which was easy to do. We cooked our own breakfasts, ate lunch out and ate at the Sala restaurant (which is super) on 2 nights, and had a takeaway pizza for the other night! Such great management, friendly and nothing is a problem.
