Infrastructure is lacking here - we had heavy rain and roads flooded. The village was without power for three days and phone signals were down. It was an unusual weather event, but it exposed the basic facilities. It has a nice beach and a few good restaurants.
The town it's self is quite dirty and after heavy rains the beach had a lot of rubbish and debris. There are also lots of spear type things along the beach which doesn't make it appealing to the eye. Didn't really go in there much just to get money out, but at least there are not many people yelling 'taxi' or 'suit'
It feels more like the Thailand of the Nineties and has no big multinational hotels there (yet). We have been on many islands - Phuket, Samui, Tao, etc. Koh Phangan is our favorite one. Having said that one must be reminded that during the Full Moon Party time it can be loud and full of young "kids". But that is mainly on the other side of the island, and not Thong Nai Pan Noi. Another amazing thing is that the beaches here have not much trash coming in. Phuket or Koh Samui are a big disappointment for anyone who likes clean beaches - it is full of trash, all the time, or jellyfish or both. The best hotels there have staff that clean their private beaches ALL DAY from plastic bottles, plastic bags an other garbage... Thailand and its surrounding countries have not developed an awareness about that yet. A real pity... For clean beaches one must go to Cancun or the Caribbean now! Or to Thong Nai Pan Noi.
Isolated and quite but lively on bars, cool restaurants and bars around here, beach is nice but not compeletly clear. You can take a boat taxi to bottle beach to see the best beach. It is 2p min around.
Paradise and tranquility. Stunning bay. Village pristine, pretty, quiet. Perfect for families and people who want some peace and relaxation. A classy resort. Our teenagers loved the beauty of the place. Plenty of restaurants and bars. If you want your entertainment loud and brash, this isn't the place for you!
The beach is really peaceful. You can go kayaking, snorkeling, playing beach ball. It was not crowded at all as it is quite far from Thongsala pier and Haad Rin where the full moon party was held. Anyways, it is not too hard to find the way come here. There are both car and boat transfer, car transfer costs around 1000-2000 THB depends on how many people you have and how good you can bargain.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night of our two-week stay in Thailand. It was our favourite place out of the whole trip. The room was exceptionally clean, modern and comfortable, with additional extras such as dressing gown and slippers. The food at breakfast was fantastic and the service was very good. The location of the hotel to the beach is excellent. It also offers great views. We couldn’t recommend it more.

The beach on which you are located is stunning, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars along the beach / in the local square. Air con was very powerful and didn’t need a key to activate.
