For the money the room was very basic. No view of lake, which is the whole point of staying here instead of anywhere else in the area. People parking all over the place and people in adjacent rooms helping themselves to our outdoor furniture.

Full of delicious Thai and Vietnamese foods to enjoy.
Full of delicious Thai and Vietnamese foods to enjoy. Recommend Madam Pahtehh on Tumruat Rd which serve Vietnamese style food. The other restaurant is Maeya which serve Thai cuisine. Both of them got Michelin Star and you won't disappointed.
In the evening walk around Nong Prajak Park and enjoy the scenery.
Don't forget to pay respect to late Luang Ta Maha Bua at Dhammachedi Museum, Wat Pa Ban Tat.

Busy Thai city, homeless people sleeping next to shopping...
Busy Thai city, homeless people sleeping next to shopping malls selling clothes 95% of native Thais could never afford.
The hotel we stayed at was on Sampanthamit Street, which is sexpat and sex tourist street., there's one in most cities in Thailand. Ignore the girls and they'll ignore you. These streets usually have good restaurants owned by foriegners. We ate at the Brickhouse just over the road from the hotel, really nice but far too much food. My husband has eaten at the pizza restaurant exactly oposite Brickhouse, he often joins bike rides to Udon and has been raving about the pizzas for years. (We lived in Melbourne for 20 years so we know good pizza. I just didn't fancy it that night).

Personally, I feel Udon Thani is a pretty quiet city.
Personally, I feel Udon Thani is a pretty quiet city. But I found many restaurants have very fascinating concepts e.g. Madam Patay. You should not miss to try one of Namnueng shop i.e. VT Namenueng, it is originally from Udon Thani. Lots of temples for you to explore. The attractions are pretty far from city so you should well plan a trip and a length of your stay.

I like the city of Udon Thani, for its more authentic atmosphere than the other big cities in Thailand which are sometimes too focused on tourism.
This city has a calm but still very active atmosphere.
there are many possibilities.
The surrounding countryside also has a lot of charm.

Lots of shopping options. Couple of really good parks. The morning and night markets are really cool. I usually chilled at a park during the day, got a massage, grabbed food from UD Town and hit a bar. Was nice to end my long vacation on a relaxed note.

Provincial capital and robust market town.
Provincial capital and robust market town. A solid middle class city not built on tourism. Udon Thani provides a much more authentic Thai experience than tourist hubs like Chiang Mai. Public transport is weak and it helps to be a vigorous walker. If you want an authentic experience, this is the place. But if you prefer a huge selection of shops, restaurants, cafes and night markets that cater to western tourists, Chiang Mai is your place. Personally, I like both and I’m now happy to be in Chiang Mai,shop browsing, munching and people watching.

stylish hotel, friendly staff, good food. Swimming pool small but very nice. There should have been a bar. But if you would like to have a drink, you can call and they bring it to the pool. Perfect. Rooms were very clean and modern.
I changed from another hotel in Udon Thani. The reason is, that some hotels write, that you can use the facilities. But some are still closed and won't open again. This hotel offers swimming pool, gym, bar and restaurant.
The best Hospital in Northern Issan AEK International is not to far from this Hotel. I had an appointment and this hotel worked out very good. Not to far from UD Town Mall were I was able to get a new led screen for my Apple phone from a little shop right in front of Lotus market. They fixed it in about 2 hours. Price was very good and the staff very friendly.
Overall the Pannarai is a good hotel that I have stayed at 3 times . Excellent comfortable king size bed with good linen . ( premier king room) .Hotel staff were very helpful .Good quality bath towels . WiFi was good as was the air con . One of the better hotels that I have used in Thailand .
Very nice stylish interior, good lights in the room, one bright for the mirror and one nice industrial lamp for the atmosphere (took the cheapest room). Darkening curtain. Everything really clean, nice shower with a curtain - the first one I saw in Thailand! Small balcony. Staff very nice and helpful.
Lovely hotel, big rooms that are well equipped, most comfortable bed in Thailand, a lovely deep bath, helpful and polite staff, can't fault it, and would definitely use if I'm in that area 👍
