This is a great location, not too far off the beaten path and a great drop off location for exploring. You can pay to use beaches near by and go for a drive to other villages. The meals were fantastic and really reasonably priced. Breakfast was included.

The location and ambiance were great. Nearby are supermarket and restaurants, and it's within walking distance to the Slipway. The staff were very welcoming; the ladies spoke softly and were incredibly patient, answering all my questions and assisting with communication with the taxi driver. The breakfast was delicious and the Wifi was fast. This hotel offers the best value for money and overall experience I had during my 12 days in Tanzania.

    I relocated from the Peacock Hotel to The Southern Sun Hotel, and this was the best decision I made. The coral beach and slipway were great to hang out at and eat. Bolt was the God sent and easy way to get around Dar es Salaam, and reasonably priced. I enjoy a trip to Zanzibar, which takes about 2 hours by boat, and its Tanzania's Paradise.

    Dar es Salaam is a great city if you know where to go.

    Dar es Salaam is a great city if you know where to go. It’s best to be in a group or have a local host to truly enjoy your stay. I’d recommend avoiding driving in the city center due to the heavy crowds and constant traffic jams.

    What a great city. So much to do!

    What a great city. So much to do! Highly recommend Bravo Coco Beach for that Miami vibe, and Wavuvi Kempu for a taste of the nightlife in Dar. Waterfront is best for that sundowner dinner and drink with your loved ones.

    Dar is much safer than Nairobi. recommended for traveller, businessman, investor, its growing country and DAR is the biggest city of Tanzania. Dar es Salaam is indeed a rapidly growing city in Tanzania. It's one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the world. for traveller with family i suggest to selecting Dar es Saalam because nice beaches, people is user friendly, Mikumi, Selous national park, zanzibar with state of art ferry facility from Dar to ZNZ. BRT bus services, SGR railway, Taxi, uber, bike and self drive rent a car is available. almost 40+ country food restaurants. ofcource day time is 100% safe but during night time also safe if we have local language speaker guide

    After arriving in the hustle and bustle of Dar es Salaam it was like a little oasis, lovely layout and cute touches. The staff were lovely, Frankie was very welcoming and taught us some Swahili, Upendo made the BEST cocktails and one of my bags had been lost by Rwandair and Dorothy went above and beyond to help me get it back! The food was delicious and reasonably priced and the location was right on the beach.

    The best part was definitely Issa and Ninja who were the best hosts we have ever met. The garden area was also beautiful. Yes it’s far from the city, but we had a better time just being at the beach and in the area close to the house, than when we went to the very busy dar es salaam for one day. Great place.
