Featuring 2 outdoor swimming pools, Zanzibar Sunrise at Bandas is located in Matemwe, 3.7 mi from Dove Spot. This hotel offers room service, luggage storage space and free WiFi. The food was absolutely great, I would say the best on island! The owners did a great job to deliver the high quality products! Our bugalow was right on the beach, very private yet easy access to the restaurant, of anyone is looking for a peaceful time with their loved ones that is the place to be!
Set 4.3 mi from Dove Spot, Zanzibar Bahari Villas offers 4-star accommodations in Matemwe and has an outdoor swimming pool, barbecue facilities and a garden. Breakfast was international and very nice. Located direct from the beach. Hotel located near mnemba island famous for snorkeling in Zanzibar
Located on Matemwe Beach, Marafiki Beach Hotel & SPA offers accommodations with a bar, a swimming pool, a garden and a 24-hour front desk for your convenience. The bungalows are great and especially beautiful on the outside. I had to work a little bit when I was there, so I was happy to see a desk in the room. The wifi works well in the rooms as well as in the restaurant! The food was by far the best food on matemwe beach! There are many restaurants you can enjoy that are 5 to 15 minute walks away in both directions. The walk isn’t a burden at all, since the beach is beautiful and especially nice in the evening, as you can see the stars the best on this side of the island. The staff was super helpful and made sure everything our needs were met! There is plenty to do on this beach, as they offer activities and also have a complimentary kayak. Which we made use of and it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, our stay was only for two nights, but I will definitely return and stay longer the next time I'm around. We recommend staying for at least 3-4 nights as you can move around the island fine from this place to visit Nungwi or stone town. These things are about an hour's drive, which is generally short when you compare it to other parts of the island. Matemwe truly is a beautiful beach as there aren’t as many tourists around, it's very clean, and peaceful here!
Located directly on a picturesque beach in Matemwe, Panga Chumvi Beach Resort features an on-site restaurant, swimming pool, massage services, bicycle rentals, and free Wi-Fi access throughout the... I spent a wonderful 20 days at Panga Chumvi. I was in Paradise:D. This is my second stay in Zanzibar and my first in Panga Chumvi. This is my most beautiful vacation ever !!!. I felt cared for and happy every day. Now I know that when it comes to Zanzibar it is only in Panga Chumvi. Upon arrival at the Hotel, you will be welcomed by smiling Manager Jamal, who is present at the hotel all the time. He is a wonderful person, he is always here to help, Thank you. Because this place is created by wonderful people who are always smiling, beautiful from the outside and inside with a great heart and empathy: Agnesi, Arabia, Heriethy, Kayaya, Kelvin, Liberatha, Thank you. Here I have to write about a kitchen that serves only fresh local produce. Everything tastes great! The breakfasts overlooking the ocean are priceless. Lunch, delicious dinner. You can talk to the Chef and he will prepare for you what you want. Thank you. Panga Chumvi is a magical place with a beautiful garden, singing birds and the characteristic sound of cicadas. All rooms decorated in African style, cleaned daily by beautiful smiling women, Thank you. It is a place for people who are looking for peace, respite, peace and intimacy. Panga Chumvi I wish you all the best. I sincerely hope to come back. I want and miss it so much. Grateful Beata.
Located on the Matemwe beach in the Matemwe village on the East Coast of Zanzibar, Kena Beach Hotel lies along the east coast of Zanzibar. We stayed for 6 nights HBoard and what can we say except wow, wow, wow ❤️. From the moment we arrived and were welcomed by the manager George, our stay was absolute perfection. The staff make this place - special thanks to Amos, Amin, JJ and George 1 abd George 2 who went above and beyond to make sure our every need was met. The resort is paradise. The rooms are large and very comfortable, bathrooms are clean with plenty of hot water. Wi-Fi is provided free of charge and is strong throughout the resort. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of locally grown fresh fruits. Every morning Amos would greet us at the restaurant and enquire as to our meal preferences for the day. Chef James was happy to cook whatever we requested for dinner (ask for Jumbo prawns, they are delicious). The beach area is beautiful and there is a security guard who will discourage the beach sellers if needed. There is a games room with pool table, books and games for the children to use free of charge. Water is provided - 2 bottles a day with the option to refill if needed. Our favourite activity was the reef walk with Amin aka The Reef Master. He has worked here for 12 years and is very knowledgeable. We enjoyed a 2 hour walk out to the reef and saw starfish, sea snails and sea cucumbers as well as plenty of sea urchins (they provide footwear to protect you from the urchins). There is a padi diving school on site as well as a shop and spa. We ran out of cash partway through our stay and George was happy to provide some US dollars and just added it to our bill. Every evening we were entertained by the bush babies (lemurs) who would run around the rafters as we ate dinner. There are also bikes at reception that you can use free or charge if you want to explore the local area/ride along the pure white sandy beach. Thank you for our fabulous stay - Kena Beach is paradise!
Located in Matemwe, just a few steps from Matemwe Beach, Tamani Villas - Annex provides beachfront accommodations with a restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and free WiFi. We just loved it. The best place we stayed at Zanzibar so far in a budget range of under 150$/night. Friendly and very welcoming staff, comfortable rooms with all necessary equipment. Nice and comfortable territory with a wonderful beach nearby.
This area is underdeveloped for the extend of the beach. I am sure it will be developed in time. We found a great scuba outfit 5 minutes from our stay and we could easily manage on tarred roads. There is some new developments going on and there was other eateries nearby. Probably one of the quitest beaches with the most potential!
Fairly quiet area as it was approaching end of season. A car is necessary to get around - the resorts are too far away from each other to be able to walk between. Next nearest resort is 18 mins drive down the coast. Would recommend Bin Jabir restaurant: locally owned, food cooked fresh from scratch and cheap. Very delicious! Also, Zanzibar House restaurant - they do a lovely lunch menu that's very tasty and great value for money.
Lovely clean beaches and very quiet coastline - the northern part of the island is ideal if you want to unwind. There are a few restaurants on the beach but mostly it’s quiet and good for swimming and chilling.
