Situated in Lushoto, 7 km from West Usambaras Lushoto Mountain Reserve, David Crater Homestay features accommodation with a restaurant, free WiFi, a 24-hour front desk, and a shared kitchen. David was wonderful! He picked us up at the bus stand and explained about the town. He helped us with everything we needed. The breakfast and dinner were delicious and very big, we never finished them. David is also a great tour guide so I recommend to use him for that. The room was sparkly clean.
Situated in Lushoto, 6 km from West Usambaras Lushoto Mountain Reserve, Misonge Cottage offers accommodation with access to a garden. Great place. Very very clean. Obdy and Salome have been fantastic hosts (very welcoming, helpful, always with a smile) The place has been a complete surprise for the value. We had really big and comfortable beds with private bathrooms. Breakfast was included and it was delicious, they were very kind and Obdy was an excellent guide. We did a 7h trekking into Magamba forest and he explained a lot of things about their culture, fauna and flora. Salome cooked local dinner for us. We felt at home.

The place is a bit far away but really nice for relaxing in a calm area and good for starting hikings. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are quite big and clean. The breakfast is fantastic and change every day! Easy to reach with a pick pick!
Set 6 km from West Usambaras Lushoto Mountain Reserve, Lushoto Pazuri offers accommodation with a shared lounge, a garden and a 24-hour front desk for your convenience. We had an amazing stay. The manager was super nice and helpful. As we arrived late he orderes pizza for us (three hungry german gurls). The view there ist just awesome. It was just perfect
We enjoyed our stay in Lusotho and went on some nice walks from the house on our own. The owner, Jerome, was really helpful. We ate dinner and breakfast at his place with his family which was nice but simple. We love animals and the dogs at the house are very friendly, one of them came with us on our walks, and it felt as if it was our own dog. We named her Rafiki. She has a scar on top of her left eye. We felt very sad to leave her. We would like to know that she is well and fed every day. If you can get some food for her in the market (please). The accomodation is nice with a lovely garden and nice views. You have to walk up the hill to get there but the owner may be able to pick you up. Irente View point is an enjoyable walk and lunch and coffee at Irente farm are amazing!
Brighton Junior is an awesome, Attentive and careful guide, he tailored my tours for us and I extended my excursion with him. He know the area, trees etc Highly recommend contacting him. You can search him on Facebook.
It is great to meet people, see nature and get some exercise. But the tours are very expensive - you have to see it as donation to the community, which can really use it! So it is money well spent, but be prepared!
It has quite a bit of activities to do, most probably a three night stay would be just right to do most of them, but you can spend more if you just want to relax and enjoy the nice views and cool weather. Places of eating are rather few and they tend to run out of stock especially for large groups...make sure you give out very early notification of your order or you'll be disappointed. Take caution about some money minded individuals who are just out to make big money at the view points!.. getting around is pretty easy, you can hike with a guide if you're strong or even rent a taxi which are quite reasonable. Overall Lushoto is a great place to spend a quality time to relax and dissolve ones stresses....Enjoy!!

The staff at Kakakuano was nice and helpful. Our room was bright and the bed cozy. There was hot water and good Wifi (unfortunately not very good inside the room). The surrounding of the hotel is green and nice, you can spend time in the gardens and sitting areas. There is also a playground for children which caused a bit of noise on our arrival day. The breakfast was simple and good but without extras. We didn't have dinner at Kakakuano but went to Mamma Mia restaurant which is also close to the bus park (5-10 min walk).
