Location is perfect. Right at the heart of stone town. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Particularly Mr. Nelson who is the supervisor. He went out of his way to accommodate many of our requests including early check in. He was very gracious and polite.

The room was beautiful with great attention to detail. It was spacious and quiet. The hotel is a treasure trove to walk around. Wonderful public sitting areas, walkways, and swimming pool. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. There was a wide range of local baked goods and fruits in buffet style. It was great to be able to sample some of the local flavours. There were also several hot food options. The staff were very friendly and helpful in many ways. They definitely go the extra mile

The location is absolutely central with easy access to various sight seeing trips. Loved that even our evening Dhow Cruise and our Boats to these places were absolutely from the beachfront.     Zanzibar is beautiful and a very safe city. They have an organized transport system for tourists . I travelled to Nungwi beach and it was really a beautiful place. It was not crowded and the water was very clear and the water sports activities and so many . There are very many eateries all around . I would highly recommend Zanzibar.

    Activities are great but most places are teeming with tourists. It's probably better to be taken for activities privately (price will be about the same anyways). Better to book through existing tour operators because the freelance guides always add extra onto the price. Night Food market is a must but be careful not to be ripped off, they just handed you plates of food & then charged a ridiculous amount afterwards. Cape Town Fish Market is a must for a sunset dinner. Prison Island & Nakupenda was average, they were overrun with people. The Spice Farms & Slave Chambers are a must to understand the passed history & Coral Caves have stunning natural pools to swim in deep underground. The North has Mnemba Island, great for snorkeling. The East is windy & good for Kite Surfing. The South is supposed to be good for deepsea fishing but myself & another group only caught white Snapper, no Game Fish.

    Very busy city, lots of traffic & motor cycles. Communication was slow . Very expensive place . Couldn’t find any malls. Lots of tourists . Very interesting shopping at indoor malls & buying fruit off the street. Lots of negotiations for the USD .

    Zanzibar is an amazing destination.

    Zanzibar is an amazing destination. Don't just go to the beaches also visit the villages and learn the culture. Try Sea Walk and Quad Bike is a must. Don't leave Zanzibar without going to Mnemba Island for Dolohines best sighting. In stone town don't miss Stone Town Cafe for their Hearty Beef Burger they call it Sandwitch. At night just stick to Forodhani for all kinds of food.

    Old town is amazing.

    Old town is amazing. Walking around the lanes and back roads showed the real character of the place - particularly when you get outside of the "tourist" hub. No need for tour guides - just grab a map and explore. Also visit the fish market for a real look into the day to day life of the locals and fishermen.

    Stone Town in Zanzibar is the place to stay, for about three days. Enjoy the excellent beaches by staying at one or more, dividing your time between northern & southern beaches. preferable to hire a car for this purpose, as large distances & some activities like dolphin watching best from 6 to 7 AM, less crowd & more dolphins. each beach has something special, like Page beach for Kite Boarding. plenty of sea based activities. sothern beaches less crowded

    Hotel outside area was nice, restaurant was pretty in evenings (needed more lighting at restaurant). Beach was nice but didn’t look like pictures on Booking.com. Comfy loungers. Large bed and spacious room. Aircon and Wi-Fi worked well. Hotel was close to airport and 10 min drive from stone town. Locals were nice on the beach. The cats were super friendly and looked like they were looked after. Pool was nice. Manager asked us for our opinion on hotel before leaving and listened to our considerations which was nice.

    The location is amazing, right on the beach, so great for people-watching. The hotel is big, but not too big so it feels very cozy! The staff were incredibly nice, everyone from the concierge to the room service, to the guards, to the waiters - everyone! The pool is lovely, but my absolute favorite was the 200-year-old mango tree. If you don't stay here, at least come for drinks and a look at this beautiful tree!

    This was our second time staying at Tembo. The hotel is perfectly located. Right on the beach with two pools and a great continental breakfast. Rooms are a good size and ours came with a balcony. We stayed in the annex building this time which was only a few mins walk from the main building. Staff are lovely and they even made sure we had a take away breakfast the morning we left as we had an early flight.

    Great location! Friendly staff, nice big and clean rooms. Nice pools at hotel and in annex. We stayed in the annex which was nice and quiet. Very good selection at breakfast. Close to everything in Stone Town and boat trips to the islands can be taken from the beach in front for USD 30.

    Staff was very kind and helpful and the hotel is located at beautiful spot, with great view and very peaceful. We even when down to the small beach strip to swim. There's some rubbish on the beach sadly, but we found a clear spot. Breakfast was also very good.
