Our trip was great, we were told about the second largest canyon in the USA. My birthday was coming up we decided to visit Amarillo. Our trip was a success we met a lot of really nice people. We visited,The Palo Duro Canyon, Cadillac Ranch, and shopped. The My Place hotel made this trip a top spot and a great experience😄😄. Everywhere we traveled was on I-40 with a good selection of stores and restaurants located on each side of the freeway.

I would return to Amarillo just to eat at Little Laos, that’s how incredible it is. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the food is hands down the most delicious Thai cuisine I’ve ever had, and that’s saying a lot, considering we’ve tried Thai restaurants in several major cities. Little Laos truly takes the crown. 👑
If you’re passing through Amarillo, don’t miss it! You must try the fried quail, it’s absolutely heavenly and a hit with little ones too. The Angel Wing lives up to its name, it’s truly a gift from heaven.
For your main course, if you enjoy a little heat, I highly recommend the Pad Kra Pao with a fried egg, it’s bursting with flavor. And to top it all off, my favorite dessert in the entire universe: Little Laos’ mango sticky rice. It’s a must.

Pleasantly surprised to find area restaurants with true gluten free options. Our daughter has celiac disease, gluten could make her severely ill. There were a few restaurants where she could eat without risking her health. We enjoyed Saltgrass Steak House.
The only drawback, was that it's not easy to find Lone Star beer in local restaurants.

I loved going to Palo Duro Canyon while in Amarillo. It's really beautiful to drive through, but would require a lot of prep if you're hiking due to the TX heat. Cadillac Ranch isn't really worth visiting. I can't say much about the city itself though, as I've never really gone into town to try any restaurants or see anything non-touristy. I've only just passed through on my way to other places.

I made a number of one-night stops on my recent trip to the States and the offer was pretty standard. A decent sized clean room with a good shower, a hot food breakfast and wifi that works in the room. I remember the ones that didn't meet the standard. So definitely good for an overnight. Quite near the Interstate but no eateries nearby so great excuse to go to the famous 78 ounce steak place in Amarillo (unless you are vegetarian). But if not its good fun and well worth the short hop down the road.

The receptionist must have hated us on sight to have given us such a terribly located room when half the hotel was empty.
If you are given room 201 Run away. It is right next door to the 24 hour laundry and the ice machine. It is used ALL Night and the door does NOT close quietly. SLAM. SLAM. SLAM. At all hours of the day including at 2.20am. Hate the location of this room.
Lovely, large comfortable bed but a chance to sleep would have been nice. Easy parking.

The person at the front desk Sunday night was nice and helpful. She made sure we knew where things were located, knew about the free breakfast and time. We arrive late evening and went out to get something to go. Came back with no utensils and she helped us out and provided some plastic ware for us. Also, like that they provided 4 towels, lately hotels seem to provide 2 or 3. Overall everything was nice.

the motel and the surrounding area are the best you can do in Amarillo. The outdoor area is very nicely decorated. the room was very large, clean and comfortable. Right next to it there is a multipurpose area for food, entertainment, drinks, buying souvenirs, etc. We had a great time!
