Bend is in a lovely area, where the mountains meet the high desert, with great hiking trails in town and the surrounding area. Also decent cultural attractions including a nice outdoor amphitheater during warm weather months. If you like the outdoors, you'll love Bend. Bend has changed a lot over the years since my first time there 30+ years ago. Then I would consider it the mecca of Oregon. Now, it's over populated, traffic is horrible and it's totally lost its charm. The Portland/Vancouver area has just as much to offer outdoor-wise and it's 3 hours closer to the coast, though Portland in particular has horrible traffic problems.Guest review byJamesUnited States - 10.0

I love Bend and travel there numerous times throughout the year for business and to visit family. It has grown in popularity and can be a bit overwhelming at times and prices are fairly high but the experience is amazing! Bend has a lot to offer for many interests. It’s a great place for concerts, shopping, wine tasting, restaurants and breweries. Also it offers fun on the river, hiking trails, biking, parks and more.
