Not an elderly friendly place for a senior w/o a vehicle, NO transit service on Sunday when I arrived. I asked a nice young woman police officer for help, and she gladly delivered me and my luggage to the front door! Kudos Billings police dept.

Billings is a place I enjoy returning to.

Billings is a place I enjoy returning to. The city sits close to the Little Bighorn Battlefield, making it an excellent base for exploring that history. It’s also right on the edge of the mountains, with easy access to the Beartooth Highway, Yellowstone, and the wide country of Montana and Wyoming. The location gives you both city convenience and quick routes into some of the most remarkable landscapes in the region.

We always enjoy traveling to Billings.

We always enjoy traveling to Billings. Our favorite restaurant Ciao Mambo has a location here and we just made a 500 mile round trip just for the dining experience at this restaurant! We like staying at the C'mon Inn as a couple and when I motorcycle through Billings I stay at the Cherry Tree Inn which is motorcycle friendly. Love the restaurants and the ease of traveling around town. The views from the "Rims" are always enjoyable. I was born here but have not lived here since the summer of 1972. I love to return and do so 4-5 times a year. Make it your destination for a great time!

When I go to Billings, it's normally a planned trip since it's a 3 hour drive. I like to book a hotel at least a month or longer in advance, for cheaper room rates, but even if booking last minute, there's still affordable options at good hotels. I tend to try to book a hotel within reasonable distance from the event that I planned on going to. There are many places to eat, chain restaurants, fast food, healthy food places, etc. Many casinos if you want to try your luck, many bars and grills/bars if you want to enjoy a drink and entertainment. We enjoy pool and darts and there are many places for this. We love playing disc golf and the best place is Pioneer Park. But, overall, it's fairly easy driving to get to your destination. I used to stick to the major routes, but since then, have explored other roads and figured out shortcuts or other routes, mainly due to higher traffic on the major routes, but then you get to come across other places that might be of interest once you start exploring. We enjoy going to Billings as a get away from our area and think you will too!
