We had breakfast two mornings at The Red Cup, an order at the window spot right downtown (I recommend the grilled cheese with bacon). It's right across from the very clean public restrooms. The bookstore was wonderful. Dinner at the Thistle Inn was terrific. And there was an amazing shoe store near the breakfast place. All of it in view of the harbor.

This was a lovely location, and not at all crowded.

This was a lovely location, and not at all crowded. (After Labor Day. It was busier earlier.) The town is very walkable, and we enjoyed expensive and inexpensive meal options. We most enjoyed our sea kayaking trip out to Burnt Island. I also strongly recommend the Coastal Maine Botanical garden. We rented an e-bike, and I don't really recommend that. The owner had a 10 mile route planned, but for us that takes 30 minutes. It didn't feel safe to go far as many roads don't have a shoulder. Breakfast at Blue Moon Cafe was perfect, sitting on the covered deck looking into the Harbor. We returned twice! Dinner at The Thistle was splendid, as was Coastal Prime. We had drinks and an appetizer on the deck at Coastal Prime, for a wonderful sunset.

We've made Boothbay Harbor a retreat destination that we've visited a half dozen times now over the last 20 years. It is a classic New England sea side town which we have found welcoming and beautiful. There are lots of great places to eat, and shops to visit, local sightseeing attractions, golf, boat tours, etc.

I grew up in NH and went to Boothbay every season until I graduated from high school. We had relatives that lived in Boothbay. I have not been there for 30 years and my how it has changed. No longer the lovely town I remember. It has turned into a tourist trap. I was very disappointed.

I have been visiting Boothbay Harbour nearly every summer since mid-1990s. BBH is a pleasant, friendly tourist destination offering shopping, dining (especially fresh seafood), and many attractions. I especially enjoy cruising the Harbour and ocean on the Schooner Eastwind as well as sightseeing cruises with Capt'n Fish. There are coastal villages to visit along the winding coastline offering picturesque views of the water. I look forward to my annual BBH trip every summer. Additional attractions include the Botanical Gardens, the Aquarium, and the Pemaquid Lighthouse. The coastal communities of Camden, Rockland, Rockport, and Damariscotta are great destinations for additional day trips. Overall, a win-win all around.

The hotel was quiet. Check-in desk attendant was friendly and welcoming. The continental breakfast was very good and plentiful, and the staff member preparing the breakfast was friendly and helpful. I liked the heated pool and hot tub outside the Flagship Inn. There are many services nearby - a restaurant, grocery store, gas station, and an ice cream shop to name a few. And it's only a few minutes by car to scenic Boothbay Harbor.

We loved the location of the Inn. Right on the water, next to the Tugboat Inn Restaurant. Also could walk to the city of Boothbay Harbor, shopping and restaurants.
