The Tanbark Shores was superb. It was exceptionally we'll set up and had all the amenities we could have asked for and they thought of many we hadn't even thought of. Our hosts were excellent and welcoming. The location near Brookings and to the S Oregon and N California sites.

Oh Gosh, everything! This was a gem sitting in the heart of Brookings. It's a small little room that has a small kitchen, not just some little microwave/refrigerator kind of kitchen. It's a full kitchen with supplies like pots and pans. I think it was stated that it was 450+- square feet. It also had a bedroom, with a TV in both rooms. The price I paid, while it was the winter rates, was $119.00 w/tax. I know it will increase during the summertime, but I think it is still a good value. I can't tell you enough how nice this place is. Go there and see for yourself.

The room was very spacious and tidy. We loved how well-planned the room is. The shower was perfect - the height, temperature of water and strength of the flow were as we liked them. Both of us loved the bed - it's so much more comfortable than we have experienced before for a similar-priced accommodation. The part of the town is very quiet and peaceful at night (and the speed limit is very low on the road section that is nearby + there's a traffic light)

    Amazing stay!

    Amazing stay! Beautiful cozy space with all amenities you could ask for. Beautiful view and delightful host that went out of her way to show us everything including whales in the water. Highly recommend. Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Walking on the beach and watching the pelicans was fun.

    Walking on the beach and watching the pelicans was fun. We mainly visited with family so I can't really say too much about activities. We had great clam chowder at Zolas restaurant and enjoyed visiting the shops at the harbor.

    Brookings offers amazing hiking trails and a ton of beaches...

    Brookings offers amazing hiking trails and a ton of beaches that create a feel of private beaches. You can go for miles and see no one. The redwood forrest is 10 minutes away and is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Magical! I love Oregon.

    Temperature was great after being in 100 degree heat! Love the harbor area. Hate that most restaurants close too early. 8:00 pm, really? For a tourist town? Did not find any really great food and the prices were very high!

    Brookings is the last city north of California.

    Brookings is the last city north of California. If you go South, be sure to fill up your car tank, because the gas price in California is much higher, easily $1.5 more for the gallon. Otherwise, it is easier to camp in California than in Oregon.

    I always enjoy Brookings and I vacation here at least once a year. It has a moderate climate year-round nestled in the midst of outstanding scenery both north & south. The town has many lodging, camping, shopping & dining options while maintaining a small-town feel.

    The cabin was quiet, rustic, & is surrounded by trees with a view looking toward the ocean. The location is only 10 minutes from Brookings & 5 minutes from many local beaches. What I especially enjoyed was bathing in the claw foot bath tub overlooking the mountain view from a large picture window listening to the birds. .Wow ... so peaceful and relaxing. I also like the fact that earth (eco) friendly cleaning products and soaps are used. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

    Nothing went well, from check in, to check out. Poorly managed and all around a horrible hotel. No heat or cooling in room. The breakers kicked twice while in the room, had to switch them myself.... in the room, could have been electrocuted. Dirty, like everywhere. Can't stress enough, DO NOT STAY HERE!

    Breakfast was ok. All so so nothing great. Coffee ok. No. Delicious or sspecial We liked the beach and rooms. Very beautiful and comfortable, The exterior of the hotel was sub par with no elevator and declining exteriors

    We had issues with our car and couldn't leave make it to the hotel. We contacted them and they were so nice and understanding as they refunded us for not able to make. For this we will rebook again in the future.
