Hotel in Carbondale
Offering a hot tub and sauna, Days Inn Carbondale is located in Carbondale in the Colorado Region, 11 mi from Glenwood Springs. Days Inn Carbondale features free WiFi throughout the property. Stayed there as was travelling to Aspen and decided to stay paying less than in Aspen and to save some energy before the day of snowboarding. Location is nice - one of the last options before you reach Aspen, but still pay a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

City Market closes at 9 pm, so get your food items from there earlier. I was there to ski at Ski Sunlight so didn't have much time to explore. The hiking across the highway 82 at Red Hill was great and a workout. There are paths through the town that I walked my dog on, also nice. I went to La Fogata across the street from Days Inn, but they did not understand I was trying to order two tacos and yucca fries and instead gave me two large meals (no prices listed either). Just be careful if you go there that you get what you are trying to order.
Unfortunately it was too far from Maroon Bells for us to get through the gate. We actually got there before 7, but their parking lots were already full. It is best to stay in Snowmass and get up at 5, maybe then you would be able to avoid the shuttle. I didn't think that Carbondale was that great unless you are a fishermen, or interested in the Roaring Fork river. There are trails, but we didn't have time to try them all.
We REALLY liked the Japanese resturant ! Too bad it wasn't open for lunch. We all enjoyed the rodeo. (I don't think my grandkids had ever been to one.) We really spent most of our time in Glenwood; rafting, hot tub pool, etc. Also time in Aspen.
We have been visiting Carbondale for years and unfortunately seen it slowly get Aspenized. It seems only the wealthy can live there now and many places reflect this. We crossed a threshold of "don't like" and decided this will be our last visit.
Actually we didn’t spend much time in the town of Carbondale, we spent our time hiking to the top of Hanging Lake which is a few miles east of Glenwood Springs which is 28 north of Carbon dale. But Carbondale was a great place to spend the night
