What a lovely historical town.

What a lovely historical town. Very walkable, free buses to take you around every 20 minutes. The history brings you back to 1675. Ghost tours, to boat ride, first museums of USA, horse pulled carriages tour. So much to do.

The city of steeples, no building can be taller than a church steeple. Very charming, a foodie city, very historic, with over 400 years of history. Lots to see; Victorian and older homes are amazing. Went to the port restaurant, breakfast at The Toast, and All Day, Aquarium is worth a visit.

Hotel is clean and quiet compared to others.

Hotel is clean and quiet compared to others. Loved having a mini kitchen with freezer. Do check the water pressure in the bathroom sink faucet before unpacking. Ours was a mere trickle. Everything else was great!

We were happy with most of the places we vistied such as downtown, Fort Sumpter, Boon Plantation, Slavy Museum. The Charlston Eco Cruise Boat Tour was musch less that we thought it was. Lunch at Burtions Grill & Bar was great. Southwest Chicken Salad. Dinner at Fleet Landig was good especially the Heugonot Tort. We went back for another Tort!

Hotels in Charleston are very expensive but the room rate here is excellent value. It is a short drive to the historic area where you can park cheaply using a credit card meter. The staff were super helpful, the bed was big and comfy and the room well equipped. Easy self park or valet parking. Plenty to eat with a typical American breakfast included.

The Ryder hotel was in a great location, super walkable to all main "attractions" of Charleston. Also loved renting the bikes and riding around the charming neighborhoods. The pool / bar area was really nice to, and we enjoyed getting a drink at the bar and lounging on the daybeds.
