United KingdomAmazing hotel. As soon as I arrived the guy on the desk couldn't do enough for me. He was giving me food recommendations and advice on what to do the following day along with phone numbers if I needed them. The room was big and most importantly, clean! The shampoo and conditioner worked wonders and the hairdryer worked great. The complimentary breakfast was perfect and available till 10 allowing me to have a lie in. There's also coffee and hot chocolate available 24 hours a day in the lobby. I can't rate this hotel high enough. And the casino is about a 5 minute walk from this hotel.

Granny's Kitchen is, by far, the best restaurant in Cherokee. Best buffet ever and served a Thanksgiving buffet also with patrons lined up outside. Good shops and mostly convenient to all the activities.

There are some great places to eat.
There are some great places to eat. In the summer months there is the beautiful Oconaluftee Island Park with towering bamboo trails to walk. You are a short distance from Mingo Falls, though it’s a little challenging, it’s worth the hike. Of course if you’re into games of chance, there’s Harrah’s Casino. At the right time of year you might greeted by some majestic elk. Always something to do, even if you just want a little down time.

Cherokee is a must visit for any reason, the scenery is absolutely
stunning and was surprisingly less packed than what I had figured with the time of year. The outdoor drama Unto These Hills is worth going, it was absolutely beautiful and would go back to see it again. The Branded Cattle Steakhouse and Native Brews Tap & Grill were both on hour long waits, and both menus looked great, but we were too hungry and opted for Burger King. I was with my best friend and family but would be just as great to have spent with a partner. Happy Traveling

We absolutely love floating the Ocanlufte river, the indigenous people and all the attractions. The hiking trails are amazingly beautiful and to be able to experience a close encounter with the elk is awesome! As for a great breakfast, Peter’s Pancake and Waffle House is the bomb! Sometimes you have to wait a bit but totally worth it! For dinner we usually grab a chicken dinner to go at the “All fried up” restaurant and take it back to our room to enjoy, but if you are looking for a great seafood restaurant, take a 14 mile trip to Sylvia to the Creekside Oyster house! Best seafood in N.C. In my opinion. If you enjoy hiking be sure to go to Bryson to the Deep creek hiking trails where you can see 3 different waterfalls , people tubing, and all sorts of beautiful nature all on the well maintained trails.

Cherokee has really done some growing since I was there shortly after the pandemic. Great new eateries, nice hotels. Getting around Cherokee was easy. Husband and I are both seniors and we did the Oconaluftee River tubing. We had a ball! Highly recommend. Only wish we had planned to stay in Cherokee longer.

We picked this hotel as it was convenient for visiting Cherokee. Although large it was modern, clean and well managed. There were a good range of eating options at various price points. We would happily return here although we would normally stay in smaller hotels with more character.

The staff was so friendly! We arrived rather late in the evening, but they were still cheerful and welcoming. Same at check-out. Location is very convenient to discover Cherokee and the Great Smokey Mountains National Park or Blue Ridge Parkway.
