Granny's Kitchen is, by far, the best restaurant in Cherokee. Best buffet ever and served a Thanksgiving buffet also with patrons lined up outside. Good shops and mostly convenient to all the activities.

There are some great places to eat.
There are some great places to eat. In the summer months there is the beautiful Oconaluftee Island Park with towering bamboo trails to walk. You are a short distance from Mingo Falls, though it’s a little challenging, it’s worth the hike. Of course if you’re into games of chance, there’s Harrah’s Casino. At the right time of year you might greeted by some majestic elk. Always something to do, even if you just want a little down time.

Cherokee is a must visit for any reason, the scenery is absolutely
stunning and was surprisingly less packed than what I had figured with the time of year. The outdoor drama Unto These Hills is worth going, it was absolutely beautiful and would go back to see it again. The Branded Cattle Steakhouse and Native Brews Tap & Grill were both on hour long waits, and both menus looked great, but we were too hungry and opted for Burger King. I was with my best friend and family but would be just as great to have spent with a partner. Happy Traveling

The hiking trails are amazingly beautiful and to be able to experience a close encounter with the elk is awesome! As for a great breakfast, Peter’s Pancake and Waffle House is the bomb! Sometimes you have to wait a bit but totally worth it! For dinner we usually grab a chicken dinner to go at the “All fried up” restaurant and take it back to our room to enjoy, but if you are looking for a great seafood restaurant, take a 14 mile trip to Sylvia to the Creekside Oyster house! Best seafood in N.C. In my opinion. If you enjoy hiking be sure to go to Bryson to the Deep creek hiking trails where you can see 3 different waterfalls , people tubing, and all sorts of beautiful nature all on the well maintained trails.

Cherokee has really done some growing since I was there...
Cherokee has really done some growing since I was there shortly after the pandemic. Great new eateries, nice hotels. Getting around Cherokee was easy. Husband and I are both seniors and we did the Oconaluftee River tubing. We had a ball! Highly recommend. Only wish we had planned to stay in Cherokee longer.

Everything about the room, staff, location, and convenience was excellent! I haven't been here in many years and was glad to be back for one night. I can't believe all the wonderful new changes Cherokee has to offer now! Wow what a difference from so many years ago. Enjoyed my stay immensely!

The pool was great, super clean and clear water. The room was clean, the AC worked great on the hot days. Hotel is in a good location. AJ at the front desk was super helpful.
