FAQs about hotels in Chicago

Our Kind of Town

Standing proud beside Lake Michigan, Chicago is down-to-earth, friendly, and full of culture. It has outdoor art by famous artists including Chagall and Picasso, and there are some fascinating architectural works from the Art Institute of Chicago.

Home to blues and house music, Chicago has an eclectic music scene that reflects its spirit. The Windy City is also a pioneer in a variety of Americanized dishes from it's European immigrant roots like deep-dish pizza and the Chicago hot dog.

The world’s first skyscraper and Ferris wheel were erected in Chicago. The latter, on Navy Pier, is one of the Midwest’s most visited sights. Also famed is the ‘L’ transport system, whose raised trains circle The Loop, the main business district. Check out its skyline reflection in the shiny bean sculpture in huge Millennium Park.

Home of the Bulls and Bears, Chicago is a stronghold of sport and has teams playing baseball, basketball, American football and hockey, to name a few. If you get a chance, try to catch a game.

Chicago Midway and Chicago O’Hare Airport are both on the outskirts of this vast city, so make sure to leave enough time for travel from your Booking.com hotel, apartment or hostel. And all that jazz.

We love Chicago! The trip was short and amazing.

We love Chicago! The trip was short and amazing. We attended a concert at the Auditorium which was wonderful. We took an architecture tour aboard the First Lady. Our tour guide is a Chicago native and so knowledgeable. It was also great to hear she is a volunteer and loves sharing her stories about the city. She was so kind and provided so many useful details during our tour.

    Chicago is great!

Chicago is great! LOVE using the train system to get around. We bought the CityPass to visit five venues and it worked great. It was a great savings. We went to 360 View, The Shedd Aquarium, The Adler Planetarium, Willis Tower SkyDeck, and the great Griffin Science and Industry museum where we could have spend another entire day. It was good to see that the museums were updated and geared for families. I traveled with our 10 and 12 yearold grandkids. Lots of great walking in beautiful weather. Restaurants, stores, floral displays, and display windows are fabulous: Ed Debevics, Harry Carey, Cheesecake Factory, and Stan's Donuts. Harry Potter Store at the Omni, American Girl Doll Store, Lego Store, Museum Souvenier Shops and more.

There is so much to do in Chicago.

There is so much to do in Chicago. If you don't mind walking, then get your walking shoes on as it is possible to walk from the museum campus to Navy Pier and enjoy all of the sites in between. However, if you also want to travel further around without all the walking, I recommend the 7 day pass on the Ventra Card. You can't beat the price and it gives you access to all CTA transportation throughout the city.

I was surprise that Chicago is so beautiful, tourist and citizen friendly. I lived in NYC before but I think Chicago offers better tourism values than NYC. It's public transportation cost is cheaper. City has a free zoo and conservatory which I enjoyed very much. We also enjoyed a Sunday in th Park public symphony on Sunday night. As for safety, we did not go to the dangerous places. But in downtown and Uptown, it looks pretty safe and people are really friendly to offer helps whenever I needed. it was a great experience for this Chicago tour.

Chicago is definitely a walking city.

Chicago is definitely a walking city. We had to walk up many stairs with our luggage as the escalator going to the Main Street from subway were never in the direction of the exit. Very surprised there are no public restrooms around the city’s/in stores. I’m used to being able to walk into a store/restaurant and use the restroom freely.

Location is the best in Chicago. If you are going to the city for visiting, this is the best location. Just in the heart of Chicago loop, in front of the Chicago River, easy walking to the millennium park, magnificent mile, skydeck, river walk, cloud gate, Chicago art institute, grant park and others. It is a historic building, with a beautiful lobby. My room was small, but was clean and cozy and a coffee machine was available. Coffee, milk, sugar supplied free by the hotel . Nice team providing support and service.
