Located in the Canaan Valley State Park, this resort offers skiing and has views of the mountains from the property. There is an on-site ice-skating rink and golf is available in the summer. The food was good in breakfast and dinner. That’s is all we ate there.
I come to Davis at least twice a year and always enjoy the outdoor opportunities and friendly atmosphere. The downtown area reminds me of a simpler time and I enjoy the unique eateries and shops. Dolly Sod and Blackwater Falls are two of my favorite wilderness areas to visit and hangout. I've used Davis to launch out to other areas such as Spruce Knob, Seneca Rocks, Tygart Lake, etc. which are not far away.
Our trip began on 20th of September. Just before leaf peepers, but all very much enjoyed. Just before the rush of fall color, some stores only open on weekend. Quite the variety and charm of a small town! Restaurants as well, some only on weekend or certain days. None the less we enjoyed the friendly people and laid back atmosphere.
Davis has a small-town charm with friendly residents. There are many unique dining experiences to enjoy along with craft beer brewed nearby. This is my favorite place to visit, hike, and to get away from the hectic life further east. Sirianni's Cafe has the best pasta and pizza. Hellbender's Burritos is another great unique dining experience.
Blackwater Falls is well worth the trip especially when their is a large volume of water flowing like it was for us. The area is trying to give visitors much more. Such as mountain biking and beautiful scenery to enjoy.
Davis was great! Black Water State Park was amazing! Could have hiked around there for days!! The town itself was very small but very charming. Highly recommend the Wilderness Pub. Went horse back riding at Mountain Trail Rides in Canaan Valley. Extremely nice and knowledgeable staff with well trained and cared for horses. Will definitely go back!
Davis West Virginia is beautiful and there is so much to see and do. We enjoyed Black Water Falls State Park, Seneca Rock, and Smoke Hole Caverns. The Canaan Valley Resort was the perfect location to stay to enjoy all these attractions.
The food was good in breakfast and dinner. That’s is all we ate there.
The staff was wonderful and the scenery was beautiful
