The owners are super friendly and so are their caretakers. I felt welcomed like part of the family. Cute coffee shop with more than just coffee. Smoothies, tea, lattes. Great to stop by as you walk along the city beach You can’t go wrong, highly recommend staying here.

The kids and I made a last minute trip to Detroit Lakes to view the ice palace!! We had never seen this before...what an awesome 'mini-vacation'!! We arrived around 9pm...ate a late supper at Zorbas---great food, great service! It was a beautiful evening to be 'out on the beach'....2 fire pits going with 'ice' furniture, music, and friendly people.
Detroit Lakes is great ... as with ANY city it is impossible to know if you're in a good location or not. I would say that our hotel choice may not have been in a good location, or, we just had a bad experience.
Good dining options and nearby places of interest. Lakes are beautiful and offer many options for use. White Earth Powwow was of special interest and an enjoyable stretch from usual events offered at other locations. So many natural areas to choose from and the greenery of the woods and farm lands were absolutely beautiful.
Brand new hotel. Very comfy bed. The breakfast was decent, but not delicious. The sausage was just ok. The oatmeal was bland and soupy. I didn't have a waffle. Melon was very good. The variety at breakfast surprised me.
When I booked with this hotel, it said my stay included breakfast. Instead, because they are remodeling the kitchen, I was give a $5 voucher for a restaurant. Had I known this, I would have gone elsewhere.
The staff was very friendly and family owned. It was very apparent that the family has done a lot of improvements since purchasing the hotel.
